Callie's AMPS was a little higher than usual. She did have a tiny LC snack at +10.5 but her LC doesn't usually give her much of a food bump so I am wondering if I missed a lower number yesterday that she was bouncing from.

Then she had a big drop at +2. I just gave her the usual LC snack, not MC/HC because I don't want to prop her up if she wants a reduction. I'll check her again at +3.

Surf safely kitties :cat:

Hope Callie is doing well on her meds.
Thanks, Gina @Bama Kitty Mom Callie has been doing pretty well on the gaba - she was totally zonked for the first couple of days but she seems to have adjusted quickly and no longer seems sedated. She still has minor breakthrough hyperesthesia episodes (wide-eyed zoomies with some skin rolling and tail flicking) and she is still scratching and overgrooming (her vet thinks this could be due to her allergies, hyperesthesia or both) but she has not had any full seizures since starting the meds.

Bama's numbers are looking really good and I'm so glad that the sub-q fluids seem to be helping him feel better overall. Does Bama mostly tolerate them well? I've noticed that since we've been poking and prodding Callie more often, she's been a little less tolerant when getting her inhaled steroids and pills. Just means that I've had to be more creative in my approach :rolleyes: Can't really complain though - I am honestly amazed at what troopers all of our kitties are!

@Jessica A

We saw vet. We are trying gabapentin. She thinks PJ is feeling some nerves in her stump. I am not giving the dose she wants though. I started at 12.5mg instead of 50mg. I don't want her zonked.
@Olive & Paula Glad you got to see the vet. I hope the medication helps PJ. I had the same concerns when we started Callie on gabapentin. She started at 50 mg twice a day and was definitely out of it the first couple of days. But she adjusted really quickly and now seems completely normal, even in the hours immediately after taking the pill.

Sounds like a good plan.

I can't believe how much Callie looks like my Gabby. (You do know how rare a female calico is, don't you?)

Thanks, Sienne. +3 = 80 so she's flattened out.

Callie and Gabby do look a lot alike (black nose and all!) Gabby's so beautiful. Did she have the classic calico/tortie "tortitiude"? Callie definitely does :p She is extremely headstrong with a BIG personality but is also incredibly affectionate and loving. Definitely keeps me on my toes... and I wouldn't have it any other way!

Gabby had incredible tortitude. Like Callie, she was very affectionate and loving -- with me. If you look at her spreadsheet, you'll notice if I was traveling, she didn't get tested. She would absolutely not permit anyone other than me to test. Giving a shot was different -- there was food involved. Although, my incredible cat sitter actually climbed up to feed and shoot when Gabby was on the top shelf of my closet nesting in my sweaters. Testing didn't happen. She was truly a diva.

There are great photos of her in the link to Gabby's Legacy in my signature.

You're right in that you have to be continually creative in poking, pilling, and generally invading their spaces. He whines a bit when I poke that huge needle in him but I only have to hold him down a few minutes as the fluid flows pretty fast.

That is a very dedicated cat sitter!!

She was truly a diva.
Callie's right there with her. I have to laugh - as I am typing this, Callie is throwing everything off our kitchen counter because 1. I'm not paying adequate attention to her and 2. She is not happy with the size of her last snack.

I can see the resemblance even more in these photos. What a wonderful tribute to Gabby.
