Bama continues to do well with his sub-q fluids, syringed water, and new eating schedule. I have started feeding every 4 hours--pre-shot, +4, and +8. This continues into the overnight hours but it means I only have to get out of bed twice. I am usually testing each time. Unless he goes below 100 or seems to be dropping rapidly, I am not feeding and testing as much as before. I think I have a better understanding of how insulin and food are affecting him and can make adjustments as necessary. He is eating about 2 3oz cans of FF every day plus Dr. Elsey's Chicken kibble with some Methylcobalamin [B12] sprinkled into his pre-shot meals and psyllium husk powder in pumpkin or FF also at pre-shot. He tends to not want to eat this "doctored" part of his meal. Thus he gets dry food as incentive and sometimes Fortiflora. I have found if I withhold the kibble, his numbers seem to be lower, even though Dr. Elsey's is supposed to be under 5% carb. But we do what we can do. I am still mulling over an insulin increase soon. He came off his bounce yesterday and I am interested in seeing if he has reached bottom, yet. This cycle should be the telling point.
