This morning is vet visit. Will be leaving in an hour. She just had a deposit in the box so I can take a sample in. I must say I don't like the color, black. Not a good sign.

She had to have a butt wash as it's all over her fur, she did not like that, but she got her bupre right after. Now she is laying down and drying.

Happy day wishes to everyone.

We saw the other Dr not hers. I wasn't thrilled with that but Her Dr had told me last time she filled her in on Olive in case I ever needed to see her. Only thing is she doesn't want to make any changes since she doesn't know Olive's Dr plan for her.

I told her about the pool issue and how this morning it looked black. It will be tested for occult blood. She didn't feel anything on palpation. I did ask for xray and she said she saw the mass but doesn't know if it's larger or not as xrays don't give measurements. She said there was some stool but it's soft and not much, nothing to worry about. It was an unremarkable xray. She said if the stool has blood it could be colitis or an ulcer but ulcer isn't normal in a cat, then she says but Olive is far from a normal cat isn't she. Hmmmm.

So for now we leave things be until labs come back. I must say Olive does stink though.

Keeping good thoughts on the lab work results. I hope it’s nothing. Once Bubba has a BM that was black. It was formed and not diarrhea.

Vet suggested pro biotic. Didn't say what the strength should be 15b, 20b, or 30b? Can anyone shed some light?
As many as possible. The http://www.ibdkitties.net/supplements/probiotics/ page has a good explanation, whether or not Olive has IBD. It's not uncommon for thickened bowels to be a symptom on our acros (or human acros too). A product that an IM vet recommended is Visbiome. Renew Life also seems to be a popular one here.
