Seems like a normal start to the day.
I tried a new feeding tactic, to keep the civvie and the drooler away from Ripley while she's eating (those moochers!): I put Ripley and her food in the bathroom and closed the door. She meowed at the door instead of eating, so I joined her and sat by her side while she ate. It's really not much different than feeding her in the kitchen, though I'd much rather sit by her side on the kitchen floor than on the bathroom floor
The other pets don't aggressively try to eat Ripley's food, they just stare/use their telepathic powers from a distance and gradually inch closer. Those rascals. And Ripples isn't the aggressive type, either, so she'll often just let their intimidation tactics/telepathy get the best of her and she'll walk away and mournfully watch them munch on her food. Hence the Hired Guard (me, though I seem to be working for free :? ).
ETA: Thinking of those who've lost their kitties recently. There are a lot of heavy hearts tonight.
