Seems to be a pattern, 400's preshot, 300's nadir. Might consider upping his dose to .50, which was his last good dose, since I can't reach his vet until next Monday.

Also, although it doesn't seem to effect his numbers any, my nephew is here with his pitbull, who is very sweet and lovable, but curious about the cats. Yesterday, she wanted to bump them with her nose, which they were not happy about and have hidden most of the time. Today she is much calmer and so are the cats. They'll be here until the 31st, so they are gonna have to adjust to each other.

Any thoughts or suggestions?

I'd take him up as well, Even if you allow for up to 100pts from drooler stress he's still in the pinks and yellows.

I agree, he needs a bit more help to get those numbers down. What FF are you feeding him? Since you say he is eating poorly on the SS, perhaps you need to garnish it with something enticing like dried chicken or turkey bits? that works for Sammy when she is being fussy, she eats all the garnish, but once she gets going, she then eats a good feed of the FF underneath. Just seem to have to give her a kickstart.

Since the numbers are pretty much the same as before the dog came and Lucian is pretty mellow, although he didn't like the dogs nose in his butt, I don't think it's stressing him.

He didn't want food this morning, but he's on his 2nd meal of tuna and eating a couple tablespoons each time. More than the FF at least. I've used fortiflora to entice him and that helps some, he also like his cat Cosaquin stuff. He just hasn't cared much for anything lately. I did let him have a few pieces of Iams dry, wasn't too interested. I figure, at this point anything that he'll eat is ok. So far, he's eaten more tuna than anything. That reminds me, I have frozen roasted turkey meat in the freezer, I'll take some out to thaw, he loves turkey meat. Even if he's on just tuna and turkey meat for a couple days, I don't think it will hurt him. I realize it's not a balanced diet, but .....adding fortiflora won't hurt either.

All his Fancy Feast is 5 carbs or less.

Got an email from the vet 12/24, didn't expect it and wasn't checking. But she asked if I had tried a new pen, yes, didn't help. I emailed and let her know all that has transpired in the last few days and hope to hear from her soon. I never expected her to reply on her vacation. Hopefully she will again.

Because the last couple days have been pretty much the same, I'm going to bump him to .50 tonight.

Watch the turkey. Someone posted at Thanksgiving that they soak it in sugar water to preserve it. But we want him to eat so whatever the poor dear will eat... I know I was there with my civvies recently with one not eating for almost 2 weeks. It is a feeling of desperation but you will get through it.

I've given turkey meat before and it was a time when his numbers were doing well. Maybe it's a brand thing. Could be some do and some don't. I dunno.

Upped him to .50, keeping fingers crossed.

Evo cat & kitten dry is about 8% calories from carbohydrates, if you need a dry to tempt him.
 
@BJM...really? I didn't think there was any that low except for that REALLY expensive stuff you can only get online. There is a pet store near me that sells a lot of the more expensive brands that PetsMart doesn't sell, like Tiki Cat, etc. They'll probably have it, don't know if PetsMart does or not. I'll be out tomorrow and I'll check on it.

He has eaten a LITTLE bit more tonight, which made me happy. Still not near is usual meals.

Drooler is doing a little better, she's not sticking her nose in his butt today, so he pretty much ignores her. They've had contact a few times today, with no problems. Sassy, the drooler, has never had contact with cats before and she is sooooo curious. She's very friendly, loves kids and other dogs, loves the dog park, but just never been around cats. She doing pretty good with it. Patches is terrified of her and stays in the bedroom and bathroom and refuses to come out into the rest of the apt. Lucian and Meow Meow have been out and are doing ok with the dog. Cats are all eating in the bathroom and I moved a LB in there. It'll be ok for a week, we'll all survive it.

I haven't seen my nephew in 15 yrs, he had moved to Michigan and I am so happy to be able to spend time with him. It was such a surprise! He just moved to WV, about 4-5 hrs away and starts a new job 2nd week of Jan. His fiance' and their baby girl will be moving down in a few weeks. Can't wait to meet the baby, she's only 4 months I think. So it was a really surprising Christmas. So glad he came. I was having bad depression, between Lucian and not seeing my son and everything else that's going on. Nephew coming down really brightened everything for me.

So my son, my nephew and myself will have Christmas dinner here on Saturday. :-D
 
Yup, just 8% (older data from Binky's page)

Stella & Chewey's freeze dried is also supposed to be less than 10% and while meant to be rehydrated, can be eaten dry. I've been using it as a treat after testing Gracie (the Evo made her break out more)
