UGG.
I was wondering (very worried) about how to get back on schedule with a late nadir cat that's been low or dropping at +12.
The perfect plan suggested by Libby was if he's in the mid 200s that I can shoot 30 minutes early and if he's in the 300s then I can shoot 1 hour early.

I tested at +10.5 and he was 250, so I thought I would only be able to shoot 30 minutes early. So much for thinking
When I woke up an hour later (at +11.5) he was 358, and I could have shot at +11 and been right back on schedule! Oh well, there's always tonight, I guess.

Now, J.D., this is high enough. Come on down now, nice and easy. Your liver can relax and be calm, now.

Oh Dyana! If you had capabilities of reading JD's mind, a wet noodle might be in order!
You did what any of us would have done! You cant *know*. You did such a great job yesterday, especially under holiday pressure. I hope you got some good sleep and maybe some naps in today?

Im so excited for JD (and you!).

Keep up the great work and have a FANTASTIC day!

Re: 12/26 J.D. AMPS 358, +3 363, +8 327 - Freeze Dried Quest

J.D. struggled so much with me for his +3 test, that I told him I wouldn't test again, until +10. But, I couldn't help myself.

We are getting some lovely snow, right now. Up to eight to twelve inches. And then we are supposed to get a blizzard of up to 40mph winds, which ain't so good.

Question: I bought a big bucket of Pro-Treat 100% Pure Beef Livers for my kitties for Christmas. It says on the instructions: "Do not moisten treats." They are big and fairly hard, and I am afraid of them getting stuck in their throats, even though I try to break them up into pieces small enough that I think the will make it down. You know how cats don't always chew their food, but swallow it. J.D. especially, since he only had chewing teeth on one side of his mouth.
Why do you think they say "Do not moisten treats"?
I tried searching the internet and could nothing on this.

I have some Grandma Lucy's freeze dried cat treats which are really hard, and wrote to them, and they said to re-hydrate them in warm water, so that's what I do with those treats.

Any thoughts?

Hi, Dyana & JD Too ;-) smooth groovin in the 300s today, eh? Come on down...
I feed Baby Whole Life Freeze Dried (Lamb, Salmon, Turkey, Chicken, Liver, Ocean Fish) Whole Life Pet Products & on the bag it says "Serve right out of the bag or soak in warm water for meatier texture and flavor"

I am not sure why the ones you have say do not moisten, is there a customer sevice # you can call to ask? Or an email address on their website?

let's keep sliding down a bit for PMPS, ok J.D.?

I'm not sure why they would say not to moisten either. Good idea to call customer service, if there is a number on the bag. Good question.

Re: 12/26 J.D. AMPS 358, +3 363, +8 327 - Freeze Dried Quest

I sent them a request to call me. Let's see if they do.. They are open Monday through Friday, so hopefully, tomorrow, I'll find out.

These are the same treats that J.D. threw up yesterday. But maybe one got stuck in his throat or something.
I did just break some up into the smallest pieces I could (they're very angular and sharp pieces) and I soaked them in a bowl of warm water, against the written instructions, and I gave a few re-hydrated pieces mixed in with their lunch. We'll see.
Fingers crossed. I can't imagine that they'd explode or become toxic with added water.

Does he usually do OK with liver treats? I recall some people saying their cats would throw them up.

A couple of thoughts if they can't be moistened: whack them with a rolling pin, a heavy pan, etc. or put them in a food processor and see if that breaks them up.

Re: 12/26 J.D. AMPS 358, +3 363, +8 327 - Freeze Dried Quest

Good idea Sienne! I don't have a rolling pin, but I have a hammer :-D

They love the Foster and Smiths freeze dried chicken livers, and like pretty well the Foster and Smiths freeze dried beef liver. No problems.

J.D. did throw them up yesterday, but I think he just got greedy on Christmas and ate too many, and didn't chew them well.

Come down from that pink floor, J.D. We really want to see you in some prettier colors. The hammer sounds like it will work.

JD...time to get off that pink floor!! I hope he gives you a yellow PMPS, Dyana and then gets some nice numbers tonight. No info on the treats but I was thinking what Sienne was.

Thanks Marjorie. He listened to you! Now, lets hope the rest of the night is good. He's on the computer table right now, so I can't see what I'm typing! Okay, he moved.
I already told my neighbors, that they may hear me doing some hammering downstairs

J.D. did not bounce to the moon this morning. Yeah. Nice PMPS for him. Hope he comes down and surfs nicely for you. Also hope you stay inside, safe and warm with the snow. My granddaughters are stranded in VA. Went home for Christmas and flights to Boston cancelled, buses too. Extended holiday. LOL

Another family in the wake of this winter snowstorm eh! Well i hope all is well and that J.D surfs for you tonite, that would be nice!
Thinking warm thoughts for you out thattaway!
