12/25 Wesson AMPS HI...been HI since yesterday

He’s bouncing from the lovely blues. Bounces can take up to 6 cycles to clear. Once you see nadirs under 200 you hold for 10 cycles. Let’s see what happens tonight and tomorrow and hopefully the bounce will clear.

Ok, thanks! This process is proving to be frustrating ;) How long does it normally take for the body to get used to the lower numbers and quit bouncing?

Some cats bounce all the way to remission. Others never bounce. The rest anywhere in between. I suspect Wesson has been diabetic longer than you think. His numbers have been high for awhile but you saw yellow and blue nadirs so that’s progress. It took my cat about 9 months to get controlled even though he rarely hit red or black and the chronic pancreatitis he had fir a few years prior likely contributed to that. Yes, it is frustrating. :bighug:

I know how you feel it is frustrating seeing those high numbers:arghh:. My kitty is a bouncer and has been doing this for months but he is making progress though.

Are you just using the Libre or are you double checking those numbers with a manual meter? When I had the Libre on Checkers it was reading 50-100mg/dl higher. Though it is not the case with everyone, other people have better results with the Libre.

I don't think he has had it long for 2 reasons. The Litter Robot started having issues cycling when his pee clumps increased and I was going through more litter than usual. Also noticed the water fountain was going low before the normal cleaning/refilling. He had also just been to the vet a few months before for diarrhea and they did a blood panel. I really hope I caught it quickly.

Time for Wesson to go to 2.25 units. Been 10 cycles at this dose. It’s doses with nadirs under 100 that we hold for 10 cycles. Between 100 and 200, it’s 6-10 cycles. Since he was new to blues, holding 8-10 cycles is OK.
