Eddie's 12/23 Condo Wherein I Whine About Bouncing
This new board is going to take a little getting used to, but it looks like there are some pretty cool functions.
We hit the road yesterday at around AM +8 and arrived at my parents' house at about AM +11. Eddie's numbers weren't too bad despite the car ride. He cried most of the way but the volume and intensity of the crying was better than last time, so I count that as a good trip!
We got him set up and minutes after we got there my mom's cranky old cat snuck into the room and immediately made a beeline to throw a beatdown on the intruder. It was loud and scary, but no physical harm was done. Eddie is such a resilient guy he forgot that he was freaked out after about 10 minutes. I had been seriously contemplating raising his dose back up to 0.75u since he's bouncing again, but his PMPS number wasn't too bad despite the stressors, so I held the dose. Turned out that was a good choice, as he hit 37 at +3, earning another mandatory reduction. We ate and opened gifts till almost midnight with my parents and my sister. So much fun!
Eddie's AMPS was a pretty icky bounce this morning, so rather than taking the full 0.25u reduction down to 0.375u, I "shot through the bounce" by shaving and shooting 0.5u for a single cycle just to keep a little extra insulin on board to help with the bouncing. Eddie got a pokie break for a few hours this morning and he made his way back down to greens and surfed there for a while today. His PMPS tonight was a much more respectable 140, so we took the additional 1/8 unit shave for a full quarter unit shave down to 0.375u.
I'm trying not to freak out about Eddie's continued bouncing and hoping that the bouncing is because he likes to be dramatic about needing less insulin.....fingers crossed! It seems crazy that we're shooting 0.375 units!
Have a Merry Christmas and Happy Holidays everyone!
