WCR: Still pretty purry considering his tooth issue. He was quietly waiting on my pillow for his test and food this morning. We have an appointment at 9am. His Dr isn't available so we're going to see the stinky puppys Dr. He has seen him before so I think I'm feeling okay about it.

I'm also sending good vet vines to Willow, and as stress free as possible vet vines.

Well it was a canine tooth he lost, so that should work!

Seriously though I hope once this is sorted out, Willow's BGs will start to come back down. Good luck at the vets...

:YMHUG: thinking of you both while at the Vet today.. which is probably right about now with you on in Florida ;-)
Hopefully an easy solution & inexpensive bill...

Re: 12/24 Willow AMPS~524

We're home. Willow did well. He got an antibiotic shot. His weight is back up... Yay! I got lucky and Willows tooth broke off at a good spot... saving me $1200. The vet said with FORL, they're finding out that when they extract teeth to treat it, it's better to just hack it off at the gumline and then the tooth and root reabsorb I guess. The root is exposed, so that is causing some discomfort, but he is still eating and grooming and purring so we're holding off on pain meds because the vet doesn't want it to interfere with his diabetes or mask a further problem. If he's still showing signs of pain on Monday, he's going to start a pain med though. The vet also recommended against Willow having a dental. I feel like I'm forgetting to say something... hmmm.

First time to your condo and just wanted to say hi! So glad Willow's visit to the vet went well, you were able to avoid an expensive vet bill, and Willow's comfort level seems to be okay. Will be sending healing wishes all weekend so that you may avoid the pain meds!

Hmm, he looks like he's been hit by a mack truck and he hasn't even attempted to go eat his dinner... gonna go sit him in front of the dish again

Re: 12/24 Willow AMPS~524, PMPS~278

I am glad that Willow had a successful vet visit. I hope all continues to go well with his tooth. Poor guy! I hope he feels better tonight.

Happy Holidays!

Could you maybe soup it up with some water or no sodium broth? might be easier for him if he could have dinner smoothie-style!

I usually add water, but I don't mix it up, because he won't eat it soupy. He just went in on his own and ate some. He's still looking rough though.

if he's still looking rough in the morning, you might want to call them to see if you can get some pain meds. he might just be uncomfortable. hopefully, he'll be eating better tomorrow and you won't have to assist him with syringe feeding, etc.
about that antibiotic shot... was it covenia? if it was, do a search on the health forum for covenia. dr. lisa has several posts on *possible* side effects.

hope willow feels better in the morning and wishing you a very merry christmas!
