Tink finally saw Mr. Green night before last after surprising me with a lovely blue PMPS. Of course he didn't really want to surf, so I had to hold him up with food and still got a nasty bounce. Last night he had a nice long yellow surf... so I'd call that progress. I got some late cycle data last night. I have an inkling that the Lantus is wearing off too soon. His AMPS are SO high, but his +7's that I get fairly regularly aren't bad. Last night/this morning at +10 he was still at 264... then up to 379 2hrs later for AMPS.

I need to get a new pen in the next week or two. Does anyone have any input re: switching to Levemir? I've heard it lasts longer and has even less of a swing than Lantus - which in Tink's case might be good. We're up to 4u (total of 8u/day) now and still not getting great numbers - or even decent preshots for the most part.

I've moved the feedings back even earlier in the cycle so am generally feeding at PS, +2.5 & +4, with extra as needed if he's dropped much by +2. It SEEMS like he has a big drop between +2-+3 lately. I'm almost thinking I should feed a smaller portion at PS and then feed at +2, +3 & +4. I feel like feeding a whole portion at PS is overkill, causing him to go higher than he needs to since the insulin just starts to kick in at +2. But I dunno... I don't want to set him up to crash either. I weighed him earlier this month and he's right at his ideal 12lb. His portions with 3 meals per cycle are so tiny... I don't know that I can stretch it into 4 meals without him actually laughing at me. (or eating me).
