I just dropped Cleo off at the vet and they will call me when she goes in for the surgery. I am so nervous. She was such a good girl today and I got to spend a little time with her snuggling.

Simon senses that something is wrong and is acting a little different.

Surgery will take about an hour and then post op for a few more hours. I may be able to take her home by 4:00 today. Unfortunately, I am supposed to be at church at 4:00. I am trying to find a replacement for me because I am part of the worship service.

Keep those prayers coming. I am trying to post a picture of Cleo, but am not having alot of luck.

Sending tons of good surgery vines to Cleo and the vet, and calming energy to you and Simon. Did you tell Simon what's going on? Keep us posted. Good luck finding a replacement. I'm sure someone will be glad to help.

I will be thinking of you today, and Cleo. I hope all goes well, I am sure it will. How nice that you were able to spend some snuggle time with her this morning. I am sure Simon senses what is up, they always seem to know. Maybe some reassurance cuddles for him too, though I am sure you have. Keep us posted as well as you can. And try not too worry.. probably an impossible task.... Good luck with finding a replacement - I so hope that works out.

(((Georgia))) adding mega vines and prayers for Cleo's surgery to go well and hugs and comfort vines for you. Give Simon some hugs and scritches from us. I'm sure he senses something is up with Cleo and senses your worry. We'll be waiting to hear an update.

Sending prayers, vines and Christmas wishes to you all. Let us know when she is out of surgery and how it went..

Try not to worry - you are doing everything you can. My mum always says worrying is only useful if it helps inspire some action or change. If you cant do anything about it (like now since you have done all you can) then worrying is useless. Maybe burns a few extra calories though ;)

Morning, paws crossed Cleo's surgery goes well today. Hope you can get a replacement for yourself so you can be with Cleo. Hope Simon's numbers come down for you today, I am sure he knows something is wrong, it may affect his bg's today. Have a good day and keep us posted!

Surgery is finished but Cleo's temp and BP are low and they are working on getting it higher. I was able to see her and she raised her head when she heard my voice. She is also growling at the tech which is a good sign. They are monitoring her for a few more hours and then I might need to send her to the 24 hour ER for more monitoring. Please continue to pray for her since she is not out of the woods yet. I was able to find a replacement for me at church tonight. Thank goodness for college kids returning home for break. I'll update in a few hours. FYI: her spleen was HUGE. Everything else looked ok except for the kidneys due to her CKD. Thanks Claudia for posting a picture of my girl in her favorite place.

She made it through surgery which is great! She will be glad to be rid of that huge mass, might take her body time to readjust I guess. Still praying for her..

Baby steps to recovery - I'm glad you were there for her right out of the gate. She's so beautiful! Healing vines on the way!

Glad to hear that she is in recovery and while tired, has a good feisty mood about her......sending healing thoughts for a quick recovery and calming thoughts for you and Simon.

We are home! Cleo's temp went up to normal and the vet thinks she is ok to go home tonight. She seems to be doing pretty well, walking around like a drunk person, but also eating small bites of food. Right now, she is in her heated bed with a space heater blowing on her to keep her extra warm. She gets bupe for pain every 12 hours. The vet said her spleen was 7 inches long and 2 inches wide!!! OMG!!! No wonder she feeling so bad.

I will monitor her temp tonight to make sure it stays ok. I can always bring her to the 24 hour ER if I think she needs more monitoring.

Petsitter will be here for a few hours tomorrow if everything looks good so I can go to my in-laws.

Meanwhile, Simon is feeling very left out. He is trying to get my attention with this wonderful blue number and DH reported that he was 76 at +10 today. I will need to give him extra scritches tonight.

Fantastic news! She might start to go downhill a little when the anaesethic etc wears off but she sounds like she is doing great!!

Yay! She will do much better at home if she is stable enough. It's ok, Simon, your mama still loves you. Cleo just needs a little extra attention right now.

YAY for a great surgery report AND Cleo being home!!!! And YAY for pretty numbers for Simon!!!! Keeping the prayers coming for a fast and thorough recovery, but wow...what a fantastic Christmas gift!! Merry Christmas to you and your family...two and four-legged!!

I'm glad Cleo's surgery went well and she got to come home. I will be praying for a quick recovery. Make sure you give Simon some extra loving for those pretty numbers today.

Georgia, I'm so glad Cleo was able to come home. I'm sending tons of healing vines and prayers for a quick and complete recovery, for your beautiful girl.
 
I'm glad you're girl is home. She'll be far less stressed in familiar surroundings. Remember to go easy on the food. Baby food is fine since it's easy to digest. Anesthesia slows down the GI track. Small, frequent meals are good.
 
I am so glad that you were able to bring Cleo home. She will be relaxed and happy there. It is so ncie of Claudia to post the photos for you - she is a beautiful girl. Gorgeous!! Heal well little one, we all will be thinking of you tonight.
 
Jumping for joy here! Isn't it amazing how cats can do after major surgery? The size of her spleen is unreal! I hope she will feel so much better in the days ahead. Great that she is eating a little bit.

Poor Simon. Sending lots more prayers!
