Merry Christmas eve, to those who celebrate, to those who don't, Happy Wednesday!
I wish I could lay back and relax today but I have to work 😫
The girls are fighting over a favorite spot on the couch. Angel has it and Monster wants it. Monster will eventually win but Angel puts up a fight anyway

I do have a question regarding food bumps with the cycle. I've noticed most of the cycle, she only goes higher after she eats and then back down a little while after it's worn off. Then later, towards the end of they cycle she starts to come up on her own. It seems like without those food bumps, she would stay low and possibly get lower. Should I only be seeing a rise in numbers when she eats? I know about manipulating the cycle with food, but when I have to leave out higher card food to help her get through a cycle and keep her from going too low then doesn't that defeat the purpose for giving insulin?

It's common to see a rise in numbers after she eats, during the last half of the cycle as the insulin is wearing off, perhaps even when she has a spat with Angel.

At this phase of the FD dance, you want to keep her as green as possible, but safe greens. Especially when you are away at work. The healing pancreas is not predictable, leaving somewhat higher carb food to keep her safe makes sense. What % carbs are you considering as higher carb food? It's a balancing game of food and insulin, getting the combo just right to maintain those safe healing greens. Looks like you are doing a great job with it.

Thank you Wendy. Theese oast few days I have been mixing 15% with her normal low carb, half and half and that has seemed to give her just enough of a bump. And also being able to get up to eat through the cameras has been a life saver for me.
Merry Christmas!!
