She just doesn't want to give up those blue AMPSs.
Maggie's been pacing around and uncomfortable since yesterday afternoon because she needs to poo but can't. She was fairly regular until she got that clump of meds that put her off the lower phos. food. Now I can't seem to get the right mix to help her. I've started pumpkin again. It is the methylcobalamin taste that she doesn't like. If I try to put some in her food she rejects it.

@Marje and Gracie Marje, I'm looking for a B-Complex to replace B-Right because of the P. Do you see anything concerning in the ingredients of Douglas Laboratories - B-Complex w/ Metafolin? No rush, thank you for your time!!

Watching this space as well. I bet the constipation is causing the high AMPS today. For what it's worth, I'm looking into the methyl b12 and there is a pharmacy that will compound it as an injectable. It's on Tanya's CKD site as well as in one of my condos from the past couple of days. I thinks that's the route I'm going to take.

Poor little Maggie, this can upset her for sure and rise the number.

You can try 1 table spoon of olive oil, this worked better for Meme than Pumpkin when she was in same situation, most cats love olive oil but mine dose not so i gave to her by syringe.

?

P=phosphorus? I don't think that is a concern. Gizmo gets the B-Right. The dose is such a tiny amount.

Have you tried Miralax to see if that will get things moving? Her numbers show she is uncomfortable :(

Here is the dancing Santa poo that I posted for @Girlie's mom that worked for Girlie :D

Marje made a comment about the phosphorous in B-Right being bad for CKD cats whose blood work shows higher than normal P. Some older bottles don't have it, but Tanya's says new bottles do. It's calcium phosphate,
She gets Miralax daily. Thank you for the Santa Poo! I watched it work for Girlie. :D

Do you use a timed feeder? I mix all "additives" to the entire cycles food so it is distributed throughout the entire amount (vs. putting it all in one feeding). Just a suggestion.
No, not usually. I'm here for most feedings. I do split the supplements between AMPS and PMPS, when she is the hungriest. I include a little Miralax in each feeding. I am always open to suggestion, thanks!

Gizmo gets MMR in his PS meals so the B-12, B-Right, EZ egg yolk and Cosequin (and hopefully Omega3 soon) is mixed in the balance of food and divided into the +2.5, +4.5 and +7.5 snacks.

Yeah, I need to think about doing it that way so she gets the benefits of MMR, followed by the meds 2 hours later so they aren't compromised. It's just the PS meals are the ones I feel I can count on her to finish, but later meals she might not finish.

I didn’t say it was bad. I just said it contained it but on a post I did to Stacy yesterday, I said the same thing as Lizzie.....it’s such a tiny amount that I wouldn’t worry about it since she was not finding another product.

If you already have the Jarrows and it doesn’t affect Maggie’s BG, I’d stick with it rather than buy something else.

I don’t see anything but I have no clue what the “Intrinsic Factor” is however it is from pig.
I just saw that on Tanya's. I wasn't sure Maggie would tolerate the burning feeling that it mentioned, but definitely interested to see how it goes if you go that route.
From what I’ve read, it seems the compounded methylB12 does not sting.

Ever seen egg yolk powder for constipation and motility issues? It can’t be used if she is allergic to egg. I use the FoodFurLife premix for raw and love it. These ladies know their stuff.

if it can be misunderstood, leave it to me to misunderstand!
No problem!!! I do it myself probably too frequently!!!! Just wanted to be sure you didn’t race out to buy something else and if you didn’t see my follow-on post, it’s understandable.

Merry, Merry Christmas!! Looks like I will spend my day hunting around the house for the creche sheep. Livia has hidden them

Poor Maggie... :arghh: She has had a stressful afternoon. Runny poo, a little at a time, scooting her behind in the box, having her behind baby wiped, and repeat, and repeat, and repeat... Almost time for the PMPS. I know it will be high. We confined her to the laundry room where she sleeps at night and she is resting. I think she needs to have a nice big poo to get over this. :(

Do not worry at least it came out, runny because the pumpkin and olive oil, it will firm again sooon. She can rest and all this will go, l know how do you feel about that number just like me few days ago. Hope she gets better soon and feel ok:bighug:

Poor girl. It’s high for her but it’s not bad. Let her settle down. Hopefully, the runny poo will stop. Slippery elm bark powder, mixed into a slurry with water, will help if you have it. So will Saccharomyces boulardi if you have that but go light with it (1/4 cap max twice a day).
