What a wake up! I was just about to get the shot ready and shoot and decided to wait 15 minutes just to make sure he isn't dropping.

I didn't wake up to test at all last night :roll:

My kitties are hungry, and I already showed J.D. the shrimp he's going to get on top of his breffis this morning :mrgreen:
But, I'm stalling another 15 minutes.

I've never given Maverick shrimp. When you get J.D. all settled with his numbers and shot, can you tell me if you cook it for him first?

I buy a big bag of already peeled and cooked large frozen shrimp. I take about 4 or 5 out and put them in a cup of water to thaw. The bag lasts me a long time, but this bag has been going quicker. That is a good thing :mrgreen:

He was sticking at 58 for +12.5 and +12.75, so I shot, and fed him his breffis with his shrimp.
Please let me know if that wasn't smart.

I would be a nervous wreck if it was a work day, but it's not, so I'm all happy and calm and cool.. I feel like Jeckel and Hyde.

Thanks Sienne. Your words mean a lot to me :oops:

J.D. was drinking water this morning (which he only does when he's low), and his fountain was a little dirty (cat hair floating on top), so I rinsed it and gave him some fresh water and he was happy.

Now, both cats have gone back to bed. And, I just got my first cup of coffee, there's no going btb for me.

will try the shrimp....thanks for the info....though Rocket does not eat people's food at all....only icecream (he can smell it a mile away)....cheezies....anything that has cheese in it....i've tried the chicken (cooked) and nothing...no interest....with tuna...it's all about the water...not the tuna itself!!! he is picky picky!!!
you've got GUTS with that amps....i would have been freaking out on what to do....... nailbite_smile

Not bad, an hour after eating his normal first breffis. He shared another shrimp with his sister at +1.

Thanks, I intentionally made extra strong coffee this morning, after that.
My cats never ate human food either, until J.D. became diabetic. Then he very slowly started to eat what I offered him.
Ginger didn't like shrimp at first, but when she see's that J.D. think it's The Best Thing In The World, she decided it must be pretty good then, and now eats her share. Ever since J.D.'s dx, my cats now eat all kinds of meat and all meat treats.
I hate to mention the time J.D. grabbed my peanut butter and jelly sandwich. That was in the beginning, when he was first switch to low carb and was carb starved and going carb crazy. Luckily he has adjusted well to meat and only meat. :mrgreen:

What a mad rush at the grocery store. I hate shopping. And they didn't even have dried corn cobs for my squirrel friends.
Now, I have to quickly go to the feed store. But, I'll wait for that. They're probably open to at least 4:00pm.
My kitties want so bad to go outside. It is a sunny (but cold) day. When I put on my jacket to run to the store, they dashed to the door. I guess I'll take them out for a brief walk now.
They just ate their 3rd breffis.

Come on up a little J.D. Thank goodness your momma bean is home today to keep an eye on you! Milo is very jealous of your shrimp!!! I told him he could have some tonight for Christmas. Both my furbabies love shrimp. I buy the same stuff and just pull a couple out and put them in a ziplock bag in the fridge to thaw out. I find it is much less expensive than the freeze dried treats from the pet store! Happy Holidays!

At least he's surfing. Although I guess the combination of his last meal 30 minutes ago and the little walk (no trotting) afterwards, helped to keep him in the 50s.
He has had lots of treats today. I wish he'd learn that more greens equals more treats :mrgreen:

I just fed him a 4th breffis with chicken liver dust on top. He happily ate that.
J.D., if you want to go to Chef Mannie's party, today, you need to get up on your surf board.

He has been eating all day, and mostly with either shrimp or freeze dried salmon or freeze dried chicken liver as topping. And he has had tons of treats in between. We have gone out for a walk or two, and he has been actively playing with Ginger. J.D. is happy, so I am happy.

I need to go out one more time real quick. I just fed him some LC with some HC mixed. I'll test again in about 10 minutes and if he's up, then I'm out the door...for just a little while.

did not check ss but if you have been shooting 12/12 or close to it. let's see where he is by tomorrow. I would consider another doscecrease. he may or may not bounce from the 39. If so, may want to shoot through it again.

Not too carb sensitive, eh? It's a good thing he likes food. He ate 6 meals or mini meals so far today. With all the half hour tests today, I've gotten off little by little by a few minutes here and there, so the +8 is now technically +8.33. I think I'll test again at the actual +9.
I'm done leaving for quick errands for the day, so we can relax. J.D. is under the tree looking at me like you're not going to test me again are you?

Oh, I forgot, I had to stall to +12.75 this morning because of a dropping number. But, other than that, I shoot at 12/12.

that is not really a bad off. I have been shooting the boyz and wheezer as much as 2 hours late or 2 hours early with my crazy schedule and since the dose is like 1u for the B's and .2 for wheezer , it has so far worked out ok.
this is such a happy day for me to see J>D with these numbers

I shot 15 minutes early (at +11.75) to begin to get back on schedule.

I had to go wake up the furbabies from the bed, and said to J.D. "it's time to test. Do you want some food?" Both cats barely opened their eyes, looked at me and stretched. They' been eating all day :mrgreen: But, alas, J.D. ate all of his 1st dinner and whatever Ginger left in her bowl too (I didn't look to see how much that was). Of course there was shrimp in it.

Way to go, JD! Don't stress your Mama out too much tonight! Been reading all day, but every time I'd try to post, it would inevitably be time to give Willie a poke! He's sacked out at the moment and I'm helping my mom wrap presents.

Hope you guys have a very Merry Christmas Eve... We are jealous of JD's shrimps! :mrgreen:

Just fed his 2nd dinner, and I had to set an alarm to wake up and do this. :razz:
At least he's rising slowly. J.D., your liver is happy and calm and peaceful, and not afraid. Listen to mommy.
