What causes these high, flat curves? Are they mini-bounces from when he has numbers that are better the cycle before, or an indication that he needs more insulin? And are his numbers from the previous cycle (nadir of 131 last night) even low enough to cause a bounce?

I'm wondering because if he needs an increase, I'm good with that, but if they're mini-bounces, an increase would be counter-productive, no?

I don't think these are bounces. I suspect that Mikey could use a drop more insulin.

+3 268 Also, is there a reason why his cycles are usually better in the evening than during the day? Nothing is different about feeding, etc.

Hi guys .. no advice from us .. He sure is looking flat today that's for sure! If you do the extra drop of insulin I hope it brings him down some .. I won't be here this weekend, so Merry Christmas from us!

A lot of cats have lower numbers in the evening than in the morning. perhaps a result of increased activity during the day.

I think what you're seeing is a 'squat' (my word!) in the 200's - that is many times a sign that kitty is posing to dive again!

KT goes lower at night than during the day but I think I figured out that issue - he actually sleeps at night instead of being a 'roamer' like Snowshoe. He doesn't wake up to eat so nothing goes in to handle the pm insulin. I'm changing his schedule so we can wake him at about pm+7-8 when DH takes puppies out. If he goes low, he does eat IF he's awake. So far, it seems to be working better for us.

PMPS 192 I fattened the .1 to maybe .15, if that. Definitely not enough daylight to call it a .2. I'll give it until Monday on the fatter dose and LC PS meal unless he decides to dive, and go from there. Thanks, everyone

Mikey scared me half to death earlier. I was working on the computer; he was sleeping on the couch and his feet were twitching. They started twitching a little more and then his ears and tail got involved. I, of course, freaked out (never mind that he'd tested at like 250 a half hour before; there was no way he was hypo) and ran over to him...and woke him up from a decent nap. He was dreaming! I got the evil eye for my concern, along with a nice hairball on the rug later.

My dog dreams all the time, and Mikey often does, too. I'd just never seen him quite so active before.

+5 140 Mikey sure loves him that early nadir! I like this cycle a lot, though, and I barely increased the insulin, so I guess that's good. Now to bed for us and hoping for a nice one again tomorrow!
