Just to set your expectation, almost all cats on trials like to mess with their caregivers and give a couple blues preshots. Then take it down 3 hours later. No biggie if he does.

Happy Day 1!
I figured it's coming. ;) He's gotta test me somehow.

Just think back 6 months … no insulin injections, no ear pokes, no clue what SLGS and TR stand for, no nerve-rattling “green” pre-shot numbers, no sweet gray and white homeless street cat toying with death, no gray and white formerly homeless street cat zooming past the Christmas tree with arched tail and a sparkle in his eyes…

When I look at my crew of ragtag former strays, I mull over the little choices in life that have huge ramifications. What if I’d have turned left instead of right … I’d have never had that injured cat roll down the hillside in front of my car. Or what if I hadn’t answered the phone the night the pizza shop owner called for help when kids had tried to set a cat on fire in the dumpster out back of her store? I like to think that the world puts in our path what we need, exactly when we need it. You and Smudge are a heckuva team and you’re both better for it. Kudos for stepping up…

Aaaand I'm crying. A good cry. "...the world puts in our path what we need, exactly when we need it." There couldn't be truer words. I lost my gray and white stray-turned-adoptee 7 months before Smudge showed up wounded. Their personalities are so similar, it's eery sometimes. There's a reason for everything.

Here's a photo comparison of the day I took him from my mom's to be hospitalized with DKA to now. What a difference.

Thank you JL.
I’m crying yet again. How beautifully said, Alli. Smudge was sent to you for a reason. To heal your heart and for you to heal him. Just wow. And you have so beautifully done just that.
The photos are the proof.
Enjoy every day with each other. I know you do :bighug::kiss::bighug:
