Good Morning after the Solstice, Everyone,

Those kitties must have had a great party last night. Lots of grillin', singing, dancing. Thanks Mannie & Michelle for hosting!
Rusty has a green AMPS! First one in a while. He's having a great morning playing: first a game with Red Ears (and his string, perhaps even more fun than Red Ears himself), then a romp with Big Bug. Our test this morning got blood on the first try (but Rusty hid and it took a while to find him; he sure doesn't like those ear pokes, but he does submit well to them once he is in his spot). Then the shot, which I think went in OK. Some breakfast has been eaten. If you count last night, just before bedtime, we have all 5 Ps in place. Rusty had a good "sing" last night as we were getting to sleep. He has a huge range, from high soprano to tenor!!!
Today is a busy day for us beans. Edward is baking a pistaschio ring to take to my nephew's on Xmas morning. I have wrapping to do, and packing. We leave tomorrow morning for my sister's (near Syracuse). Fortunately no major storms are predicted (we will be going through the snow belt west of Lake Ontario) (lake-effect snow). Rusty will have his first trip since his trip here. I hope he doesn't think we are transporting him again to a new home!! I don't know how much I'll be able to post over the holiday. My sister doesn't have a computer (she still has a telephone with a dial!). I may check into setting up my I-Pad for 3G service. In any event, careful records will be kept, and Rusty will have lots of time with us (even though he will have to stay alone in my sister's house for a few hours on Xmas Eve and Xmas Day (off and on). He should be fine. We'll leave the radio on for him.

Hey Mannie. Great party last night! The grillin' was neat. I've got to learn how to grill. And Moonie, I loved singin' with you. Now we have to practice with the Kitty Chorus for our Xmas Eve Party. Tess: those walnuts were really fun to roll!

Busy days for you! I hope Rusty travels well -well certain of that. I bet that once he sees you are still with him that he won't worry. I hope that the weather cooperates! So much snow... safe travels! I love your sisters phone - one just doesn't see dial phones anymore. that is kinda cool.

Hey Rusty! I would love to teach you to grill - it is my favorite thing about cooking. So much fun! The party was fun, yes! You guys did so great with the kitty choir, and the songs with Moonie. I can hardly wait for our holiday party. see you today? ~~ Mannie

These are busy days for you Ella. You should have lots of stories to tell next week. Rusty did fine on the transport here, so what a few miles to Syracuse.
I'm delighted at the nice sunny weather we'll be having over the next few day. My son and family is coming only 60 miles, but they get nasty lake effect snow, where they live.

Beautiful green for Rusty this morning. :mrgreen:

What a beautiful green number for the week of Christmas--Rusty is doing so well, he is so happy because he has such good beans!-\
He may think he is being transported somewhere, ut if you are still with him & sleeping with him he'll know that he is yours & you are his!

Wonderful AMPS!! Rusty is a great traveler and as long as you are with him he will be happy. All his friends will reassure him too! Have a happy holiday! I'm sure a lot of us will be scarce around here.

Edward, pistachio ring? Recipe? Yummmmm.

Thank you, I'm doing brunch for Christmas and that should be great. I'm also making our traditional Jule Kage, flavored w/ cardamom.

Syracuse! That's just a stone's throw across the lake from here. I know that Rusty will be excited about being the navigator on the drive. I hope you have an uneventful drive, and a good holiday visit with your family (and thanks for the New Year's invite :-D ).

Another great day in Rusty land. Have a safe trip, enjoy the holiday. You will be missed. Have you tried Beard's Dill Bread? It is excellent. I could eat the whole loaf.

Hi Everyone,

Rusty knows that "something is up". And I was so busy this afternoon that I forgot to take up his food at +10, so PMPS was a food spike, of sorts, and then I smelled Lev. on his fur (I think I missed the skin!). We had some good plays with the cube and the shoelace late this afternoon. But mostly he's conserving his energy for tomorrow. I explained the trip to him and told him that we'd all be just visiting for the holiday. He is such a dear kitty.

Quite some news about the ReliOn Ultima test strips being recalled. I have 500 of them (5 boxes)!! (We used these for Stu, but have been using the ReliOn Micro meter for Rusty since it requires a smaller blood sample. Fortunately its strips are not made by Abbott and are not being recalled.) I tried to get through to Abbott this afternoon, but their lines are very busy (as can be imagined!).

Off now to wrap gifts. Back later. Everyone have a good evening.

P.s. to Barb: no, we haven't tried Beard's dill bread. I'll have to tell Edward to bake it.

Awesome that your strips aren't recalled. :thumbup !!!! That must have been a relief. I have to look up the ones I'm waiting on.

Great PMPS Rusty. I loved the car pictures posted when he was on his way to you. He looks very comfortable in the car :mrgreen: :mrgreen:

Hi Ella! Nice on the 109 - shesshhh - I wish that Mannie's food spikes looked like that. :lol:

I get that Rusty will be a good traveler. Somehow I can just seem him sitting on a lap, just driving down the road. What fun!

Guess what? I don't think it was a fur shot!!
Binksy, Rusty likes to listen to classical music and jazz (he doesn't have too much to say in the matter, since that's what he gets!). He's getting interested in opera. Tomorrow we'll be playing J.S. Bach on the i pod as we travel, great recordings by the Cafe Zimmermann (a group named after the Cafe Zimmermann in Leipzig, the cafe where Bach used to drink and where he rehearsed his music with his collegium).
