It appears the high numbers have dissipated. Lets see if Henry is back to his routine of 2.00 units.

I should mention the Vet did say that Henry was possibly feeling pain on the tooth that was extracted

Back in green! :-)

How is he doing? Eating okay? Did the vet give any suggestions on painkillers beyond the first day. I'm guessing after an extraction, he will need something for a few days for the pain?

Henry just completed his AMPS meal. It appears he's back to normal at least in eating his meal.

The vet basically said it was up to me me if I felt he needed all three days of pain killer

I think I will give him another pill for day 2 (PMPS +4.5) because after the the pill from last night Henry was running around with the other cats (Typical Henry)

I'll wait and see about day 3

Thank You Bhooma for staying with Henry

Henry really appreciates you folks

What a great looking SS - overall! Sorry to hear about the extraction and the resulting bump in his numbers.

He always looks like he's on the verge of getting off the juice...you're a patient and good caretaker Robert! Perhaps after the dental and getting rid of a bad tooth, he'll slide on down to the lagoon and stay there.

Luci has decided she will never go without insulin - we're coming up on our 5-year anniversary of insulin...can't believe it.

Take care and have a Merry Christmas!

Thank You Sue you Too have a Merry Christmas

I’m hoping the extraction will lead to really good things. When Max had extractions I never gave him his pain medication for more than a couple days either. You are wise to let Henry’s behavior be your guide.

I agree about the wait and see approach
Right now as of 1:00pm EST I can honestly say Henry is back to his old self
It was a difficult decision but the correct one to have his teeth cleaned and checked out.
I'm hoping as you are too the extraction will lead to better BG results but above all I'm sure he's feeling better with that tooth gone.

Thank you Elise for checking in on Henry
Henry and I really appreciate all you folks for your support

You have to be so relieved to have the dental in the past. They always scare me too but when needed protect them from other scary things like heart disease just like with humans. :bighug:
