The vet called me this morning and said she's waiting for Champ's blood work results to determine if he can come home today. His BUN and creatinine were elevated on Friday, had decreased yesterday, and if they're normal today the vet is willing to let me take him home. I'm attaching a picture my daughter took when we visited him on Friday. He looks so scared!! Fingers crossed that I'll hear good news in a little bit!!

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

Thank you for the update, ((Patty)).
We are hoping you get to bring Champ home today.
Continuing to send vines ♥♥♥♥♥♥

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

YEAH on the better news Patty!!

Sure hope they'll let you bring Champ home today! If he still needs a little more fluid, maybe they'll let you do it at home?

Great news that the numbers are looking better! Continued vines being sent for a complete recovery!

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

I'm glad his blood work was better yesterday and I hope it is even better today.
Please be sure the vet is certain it's okay for him to come home, when he does.

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

Wonderful news! Champ is improving every day :-D Waiting now for the "He's Home!" post!!!

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

Unfortunately, the fluids have to be given IV, not subcutaneously, so I can't do it here at home....or I DEFINITELY would!!

Thanks to everyone for all your prayers and vines!! I know it's doing Champ a world of good (and me, too!!).

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

Tons of prayers still coming from us...I've been thinking of you guys! I so hope he gets to come home today!!!

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

Fluids depend on the volume needed and the contents, so maybe discuss with the vet rather than assuming it can't be done.

He may do much better at home with you and sub Q fluids than he is at the hospital.

Re: 12/22 Champ - Talked to vet

I never assume anything when it concerns Champ's health. I did a lot of research on the internet and it said the same thing the vet told me, IV required, no subcu.

OK - was just checking to make sure. It can depend on where he is in the recovery process.

I got the good news that I could go pick my baby up!!! It took me about 30 seconds to put on my shoes and fly out the door!! The vet says his blood work looks really good and she has no problem letting him come home. Now he's wandering around the house making sure everything is where it should be. He seems very restless and I wonder if it has to do with the cerenia and famotidine they've been giving him. He doesn't want any food so I'll just spend my day sitting on the couch cuddling him and being thankful I have him back!!! I'm SO THANKFUL everything turned out okay. I seriously don't know what I would do without him. He's my constant companion, follows me around the house, loves me unconditionally. I'm glad I have all of you here to say this to because you all feel the same way about your kitties and won't think I'm a crazy cat lady!! I'M SO HAPPY!!

WOOT WOOT!! Lots of happy dancing in LL today. This is fantastic news! Pass on many scritches to Champ from us. :YMHUG:

I'm with Josie, we think you're normal and it's the other folks who are crazy.

I want to stop into everyone's condo who wished Champ well, but I've got to get to some serious cuddling right now!! Just know that I appreciate each and every one of you. Without all those prayers and vines being sent to Champ, the outcome could have been so much worse!! Thank you all, from the bottom of my heart, for thinking of Champ!!

I'm so glad to hear that Champ is Ok and home! I never knew that about lilies - a lily will never enter my house again! Have a good cuddle with Champ!

Patty, I'm so happy to hear Champs is home. Sending more vines for a good recovery. Lots of cuddles is good medicine. Give him some cuddles and scritches from me, too.

WELCOME HOME CHAMP!!!

Fantastic news and we are all do a happy yard dance here. Spend your time loving him, Patty. We will all be here :-D
