Good Morning, Everyone, and Happy Winter Solstice!

It was cold and clear here last night. The stars were brilliant. The moon was new. Wow! Several of our friends camped out in a lean-to (as they do every year to herald the Solstice). We and some other friends enjoyed a movie night here at our house, in front of the fire. Rusty was the perfect host and loved sitting in front of the wood stove (we have a wood stove insert in the original fireplace). He was so comfortable that he never came up to bed until 3 A.M.

This morning is overcast and cold. A good day to finish (finally) with my Xmas cards and begin to trim the tree. The weather for Xmas-Eve travels looks pretty awful: much warmer with heavy rain, even here in the North Country. Well, we'll see what it will be closer to the date.

Rusty and I had a good schmooze, a combing, he ate some of his breakfast, and now he is napping in his little bed by the radiator.

Great start to the day for Rusty- hope his cough is a thing of the past. Sounds like a good day to be under a quilt with a good book- but I hear you on being busy trying to get things done! Have a wonderful day Ella! p.s. thanks for the recipe for gingersnaps. I accidently put vanilla in them, so they probably tasted weird but I had no choice but to bring them to our friend's last night. But at least they were crunchy! :lol:

Nice start today, Rusty! Sliding to the Lagoon later? Tess wants to know when the wood stove will be fired up again!

We're decorating our tree today too, so far not a great deal of interestin it.

Uh, where was that gingersnap recipe? You can't tantalize us like that!

Take it easy Rusty! Maybe stay on the shallow end of the lagoon and keep an eye out for those LL kitties that swim out a little too far today. :mrgreen:

Your evening sounds so nice, hanging out with good friends and a move with the wood fire stove. We have a wood fireplace in our apartment, and haven't fired it up yet this year, but the cats love to camp out near it and get nice and toasty warm. :-D

Have fun with tree-trimming and finishing Christmas cards!

ah the wood stove... Mannie loved that wood stove.... That was almost as good to him as the radiators. :-D

Did you get your Christmas cards done? I had meant to do mine today, and well, the stack is still sitting there. :roll:

How fun on the solstice celebrations. I think I would opt for the wood stove thing too. Sounds like a great evening.

I will hope today was as good too.

Hi again,
We got the lights on the tree (Rusty helped; he is no longer apprehensive about the tree). Tomorrow the ornaments. I got a lot of Xmas greetings sent out electronically (cheating this year! but it still takes time to catch up with old friends). A few more to go.

Sorry to miss most everyone's condos today. Hope all is well in LL.
