Not too bad considering he didn't have R this morning.

Tomorrow starts the 48 hrs with no insulin. Good thing I got tons of e-juice. :o

This is the plan, 48 hrs no juice, then start him on .25 for a minimum of 6 cycles, maybe more depending on how he does. I'll play it by ear after that. Geez this is scary. :o

Question: Is there any chance of him going DKA without insulin? If so, what should I watch for?

The moment he shows you more than a trace ketones then jack the juice quickly. You can have ketones without it becoming DKA but they also can be the start of it. DKA is the perfect storm of infection, not enough food and not enough insulin. As long as he's eating well and not sick and not throwing ketones your good to go.

Thanks Mel. That's what I thought I remembered, but my memory sux, so I wanted to hear it from someone with more experience.

If Lucian goes DKA after me doing what the vet wanted, I will punch that B out! Trust me! My son will be paying my bail! :twisted: I ain't that old yet! Funny thing, son and I were discussing my 'wilder' days and how I was beyond ass kicking now.....I told him I was still able, it would just take me days to recuperate from it. :lol:

The whole idea scares me to death, but it's the only option left at this point. :sad:

He can't be a normal FD kitty, doing well on his meds, everything fine, oh no! not Lucian! He has to be difficult! :o
