We were so close to blue last night at 205! Probably won't be tonight though since she got in the sink and was licking the butternut mac n cheese residue off my dinner plate. I've never had a cat this obsessed with human food! (I'm vegetarian so other than cheese, my other kitties aren't really interested.) When she gets more regulated, hopefully her food fascination will reduce. My Neko liked bread products that started with "b" (banana bread, baguette, blueberry muffins).
My best friend's old kitty, a rescue from her time in Romania with the Peace Corps, was utterly incorrigible about this. He would eat anything, was always in the sink in pursuit of something to lick, and would hang around under the table during meals to grab anything anyone dropped (and on the table the second people walked away, in case they weren't done clearing up). Most of the time he got shut in a different room at mealtimes because of it, for all of his long life. (He passed away earlier this year; I think he was 17? I miss him, terror that he was. His name was Attila. )
All of which is to say ... some cats can be like that? I hope Ember calms down a bit, but putting her in another room seems like a perfectly reasonable solution to me!
Good luck! I had a cat that was like that. One day I'm sitting in the couch eating green beans and he's staring at my bowl. I was like... 'You're not going to like this', and but a piece for him. He so ate he anyway. Cats
