12/21..Elmo thyroid dose increased possibly messing with BGs

Good morning...anyone have experience with prior hyperthyroid and then diabetes???

Both can be due to autoimmune conditions, among other causes. Low thyroid will slow down the metabolism and calorie burning. I've had a hyperthyroid cat and also had 2 diabetic cats. What do you need to know?

* If thyroid levels are high does it impact speed of metabolism of insulin (e.g. could the dose peter earlier for Vetsulin)?

* What impact does hyperthyroidism generally have on glucose levels (increase? lower?)?
