so I forgot to ask the vet if it was okay to give Charlie mirtazapine when I got home, I had told her that I had it and then we are waiting for the blood results to get done and it just slipped my mind but she did say wait till we saw the blood results.

oh and another good laugh at something the bet said she asked if I ever considered using vetsulin works just like lantus but it is way cheaper. I had the correct her and let her know vetsulin is a fast acting insulin lantus is a long acting insulin.
maybe I shoulda left her a bill.

Yeah, you should have. We, as clients, seem to be doing most of their work.

you are correct paula what's crazier is the other doctor over there that did Charlie's pre-boarding exam was super happy and proud that I was testing Charlie as much as I do.

Bleck on the bounce...of course it could also be stress related as well as the higher carb food you've had to use to get him to eat!

Come on now Charlie! Eat yer fuds!!

So far tonight he has eat a total of 2.75oz, 1oz some chicken I cooked for him.
He seams to be dropping pretty good, going to try and get another oz of food in him in the next hour or so.

One "nice" thing (I guess) about starting that high....there's longer to fall!

Sounds like he just wants you to cook special for him.....LOL

I think he'll be fine, but if you're concerned, why don't you set an alarm for around +6 and get some rest?

So this morning there has been some progress, normally I leave charlie in the bathroom after test cause if I Dont he will do what ever it takes to jump up on the kitchen counter to get at all or and unguarded cat food plates. Since his appy had been off he has not been jumping up on the counter let alone coming to the kitchen while I'm getting food ready. Today I gave him the choice after testing if he wanted to stay or come out by leaving the door open, about by the time I had food on the first plate, he was in the kitchen, and by the time I had food on the 2nd plate, he had jumped up to o get at the plates. Brought his plate to where he eats and he jumped right up, he did eat all his food, but I did crush freeze dried turkey on his food.
Hopefully this keeps up.

I'm glad it seems that Charlie is feeling better again. I already knew that vets don't know much about diet and have since learned for most the same is true for diabetes. I often crumble fd on Max's food or else Stella & Chewy's fd cat food. Vicious circle here though because he is too fat. :lol:
 
You must be so exhausted. I hope you can catch up on some sleep and relaxation tonight. With all the excitement I hope your visit with your dad wWNR well and that ge is doing better.
