Well yesterday wasn’t very pretty, unless you like pink. It used to be my favorite color. Not so much anymore. I’ve waited long enough. Today I’ll call the vet and insist they track down those test results.

Wishing a kitty day for all, plenty of purrs, play, sunny spots and lots of love.

Hope Weezer decides pink is out of fashion today. Good luck with the vet, I hope you have answers waiting for you today.

That's crazy that you don't have the results yet. Good luck tracking them down. I've never liked pink much and now I don't like it at all. Blue has always been my favorite color and Anne's is green. Doesn't that sound like a good idea Weezer? :-D Happy Tuesday!

Hi Linda, good luck on getting the test results. It does seem like it's taking a long time for the results. Scritches to Weezer and hope he comes down.

DH tried to get a reading at +4. It was 239, which we do like. I would have stopped there. I don't know why, but he retested and got 451, we do NOT like, so redid again and got 329! I don't know what to make of that! He is going to be out for awhile and will test again when he gets home. Stay tuned...

Seems like I remember Marje recently saying that she doesn't retest with the same meter because the reading would be funky. I'd go with the first one that you got. :smile:

What a mess on your +4 :!: Just pick the one you like best, I guess :lol:

Good luck getting those test results, don't hesitate to throw a fit. It has been quite long enough, tell them all of LL is on the edge of their seats!

DH got a +7 of 272. Being the wise man he is, he quit with a number we like. :cool: So I have decided to call the +4 239. Yay for yellow :roll: :lol:

So yellow it is for Weezer--yay.

My ReliOn Confirm does that, too, giving wonky numbers with multiple tests. I called the company and asked about it, and they're sending me a new meter free of charge. They only ask that I send back the old one because they want to test it for quality control purposes--and they also pay return shipping.

yesterday i nearly had a heart attack - first strip took too long so i knew there was something wrong with it. i put in a second strip and it said error - i though i hadn't waited for it to reset.

third strip, new poke = LO

i started to leap for the karo and then thought i should retest - that was too crazy for punkin to go from 200's to less than 20 - he simply doesn't do that. retested and got a 193 - that one i believed.

glad you got it figured out.

We have test results and no surprise, she is acro, with insulin resistance. I will pick up copies of the labwork tomorrow and will post the numbers.
 
Well now you finally know! Weezer is still the same kitty she was before you got the dx, just a little bit sweeter now? :-D Hugs to you Linda :YMHUG: Give Weezer some extra scritches from Leo and I.

Knowledge is power and compassion and your guide for continuing to treat Weezer. You're already doing an incredible job with him. Now you just have an explanation for why he's gulping insulin -- it's his pituitary!

Now that you have the diagnosis, you can go on with confidence and your friends here will be with you every step of the way. And, you'll have lots of help from some very knowledgeable people. Weezer has been doing well lately, she feels good, and she's your beautiful girl. Nothing has changed in her world.

well,n ow you know - and I am with the others - knowledge is power, and now you have the ability to treat Weezer accordingly. You have done a great job so far, and I know that won't change. We are all here for you. I know it''s not the DX you wanted to hear, but it is manageable one. Weezer is still the same kitty now as before DX. For Weezer, every thing is the same. Many hugs from Mannie and I.
 
Aw Linda, so sorry to hear the news but I also agree that knowledge is power. So, now you study and treat Weezer accordingly. Will keep her in my prayers and meditations. In fact, I bet we all could use a kitty prayer circle so i am going to create one for all the LL kitties and put Weezer in the middle for a good dose of energy from everyone else.

Oh, Linda, I'm sorry. You may not be surprised by this new diagnosis, but it still isn't what you wanted to hear. I hope you're resting well tonight. The many friends you've made in this community will be right here tomorrow with the same encouragement and support that you've so often given to others.

I am sorry to hear about the results of Weezer's tests, but I imagine you are somewhat relieved to have an answer to everything. I know when I found I had MS, I wasn't happy to hear the words, but I was relieved to know there was a real reason for the way I felt. One of the best pieces of advice I received, after my dx was from a librarian helping me research M.S. I am paraphrasing (badly) Sun Tzu from the Art of War: The best way to defeat your enemy is to know him well.
Knowing the 'enemy' is the first, best step. Arm yourself with knowledge.....and you have lots of help with that, here. Then you can choose the path you want to take. Whatever path you go down with Weezer, it is easier to make decisions from a position of knowledge.
