Question for all our folks? Do high numbers drain the shed?

I am wondering if it does because the shed is using up all that spare insulin on all that extra glucose?

Wow...kinda fast drop....Attie is laying in front of the food dish... He had his 9am feeding, but with this falling kinda fast...wondering if giving a bit more would be just fine for him...


Two client calls already this morning. Gotta love'em too. Big Snowstorm predicted for Eve and Christmas Day. So far two have called to tell me to double on food and water on the Eve visit and skip Christmas Day if the weather is real bad. Keep the change too boot!

To answer your question about the shed, no it's not used up if numbers are high. If that were the case, you would never see high numbers because the reserve would be used to bring them down. A depot is inherent to the pharmacology of a medication.

I know there is a shed/depot, but wasn't really understanding why or how if truly functions. Like a late shot draining the shed etc. I know that is what happens, but I don't know the why's behind it.

Just one of those obsessive questions to ponder and probably research for me.

Gonna give Attie one last check before I head out the door.

Got a dismal call this morning...busy phone morning...wow...

The little barn kitty I was scheduled to pet sit over Christmas and New Years...passed away last night. Owner is pretty upset. I'm gonna stop over there in a bit...

Well looks like Attie is going to give me another blue run into this evenings PMps. I'm gonna give him a bite to eat now as several days ago...this led to a flash drop....

Not a bad idea to give a small snack. I sometimes give a late snack when I see Tinkles sliding down through the whole cycle and it looks like he may go pretty low...it *may* help avoid bottoming out at PMPS. It's certainly worth the experiment to see if it works for Attie.

Oh...thanks Laurie. Barny was about 16 and had lived in the barn since being a kitten. Several weeks ago she had gone blind seemingly overnight. She seemed to be adapting to the blindness too. Owner found her last night laying listless and unable to walk. They suspect she had a major stroke and let her go on. Tough amazing lil girl.

Hi Celi,

thanks for stopping by this evening. Yeah kinda long day, but it was a good day. When I got the call that Barny had suddenly gone blind...I didn't think it would be too long. I'm sort of glad it didn't happen while I was actually on the sit over the next two weeks.

Well looks like Attie is going to be fine this evening and I'm setting the alarm clock for the +6, the feeder for the +5 and +6....

I need to go lay down for a bit.

Might be back later...we'll see.
 
Looks like Attie went out late last night for the lunar, solstice, darkest night of the year party! And he is still partying this morning. Bit wound up this morning. New thread start in about a half hour... ~O)
