Good evening ya’ll. I just shot a low pre-shot since I can be home to monitor her so hoping for a good surf tonight!

In other news, I got a major update on Lil’ Miss Ailish’s life.

As many of you know Ailish was my mom’s cat, before she passed away about two years ago. Ailish has lived with my wife and I ever since.

While Ailish and I were enemies growing up in Maryland, we have grown closer over the past two years, and I’ve never experienced a cat with this much love and personality.

The same week Ailish was diagnosed with diabetes, my wife and I were blessed with our first child. Ailish has been a great Aunty (see top picture), but with me back leaving for work by 6:30, and a newborn baby in the mix it has been a struggle for me to give Ailish the care she deserves.

About a month ago our friend who pet sits Ailish offered to foster. She said she would manage Ailish’s day to day care, as long as I continued to manage her major medical care. This friend is known and loved by Ailish, works from home, and really wants a pet in her life. I’ve given it a lot of thought, and I’m taking this friend up on her offer.

Our friend lives nearby, so I will still see Ailish regularly, and I will be her pet-sitter when our friend has to travel. I will also continue to manage her vet care.

Right now our friend does not want to join the forum, but she might at a later date.

This is one of the toughest calls I have ever had to make, but I think it will let Ailish get the most focused care, allow someone else to experience the joy of pet companionship, and still let my son visit his Grandmother’s cat regularly while letting me focus my daily efforts on him.

I’ve really appreciated all the support on this forum, I would not have gotten Ailish to where she is without it. I hope y’all will continue to support me and Ailish as we go through this transition, and am hoping my friend will join too, once she sees how useful and supportive it is! Whatever happens I will keep y’all updated on Ailish’s journey.

Much love,
Eamon

You’ve got my support Eamon - seems like a nice solution for everyone involved. Hopefully you can teach her up on all that FD knowledge you have. Good luck and don’t be a stranger here!
Thanks Tim! That’s the plan, I’m lucky that my friend is better with procedures and data than me so I trust her to follow everything I teach, and then probs improve lol

I’ll deff still be around, and will keep the Ailish updates coming!

Hi Eamon, it sounds like a good plan for great care for Ailish. I’m sure it was a very difficult decision for you. I think your Mom would approve by giving Ailish the best care possible.
Hope you will keep us posted.
Wishing you and your entire family all the best and good health.
Enjoy your sweet baby :bighug::bighug::bighug:
