I know I haven't been around and don't have alot of #s but can someone give me some dose advice please? Am I not giving enough insulin, did I miss something somewhere and am giving too much insulin? Tray's #s have been pretty bad lately. I've been so busy with work, the holidays and my mom not feeling well that I probablly have neglected Tray a bit. Any advice would be much appreciated and thank you.

Iorwen, Tray's last best day, without any data is on the 3.75U...I suggest very strongly, if you can possibly, take just one day and do a curve, if you cant do a whole curve, do a mini curve, +3, a +5 or +6 maybe a +7or +8, for AMPS and PMPS,
just to see what's happening during the cycle..Also, could Tray have a bad tooth, UTI?, any type of irritation or infection, or can he be being affected by much stress in the house??
You know that even if he gets a blue number(after the pinks) during the day, he could possibly be bouncing off of those...But you couldnt know right now.
Sorry friend, but I have to go with you need more data, wish I could help, maybe take a good look at him & try to get some kind of hold on it..Also, others will give opinions, I am hoping this will pass..
Hugs & Love from us!! Hope your DM is doing OK!

Hi Iowren-

I know you've really got a lot going on...I just wanted to offer our thoughts, prayers, and hugs for you, your DM, and Tray. Hopefully a bit more data, when you're able, will help fill in the pieces of the puzzle. Take care of yourself :YMHUG: !!

I know I don't have alot of data, but I have no idea when I can have time at home to do a curve. He has some sneezies a few days ago but seems fine now, all P's in place. I looked at his teeth and they seem ok, not that I'm an expert. I might have to figure a vet visit in at some point.

You know if I had any good suggestion for you I would give it,as I know you are going through a bad time--
See if vetty can fit you in, just thinking, it's a little something, you know how delicate these kitties are--
Wish I could help more--Go so you can have more peace of mind..Hugs!!

Thank you, sometimes just having a place to vent and hear support helps alot.

I am so sorry Tray's numbers have been icky. It does look like he needs an increase or he is bouncing a lot. I just went through the same thing with Tarragon and kept raising his dose until he had a break through. Hopefully someone will come along and give you some good advice. Hugs to you Iorwen!!!

The other thing I think that may be contributing to some very un-Tray-like numbers is that you have been giving different doses in the AM and PM for the last couple of days. Doing this tends to really mess with the shed.

I don't think you've been doing that bad of a job with testing! Tray's SS doesn't look all that different from the previous months given that you have to work. Perhaps the biggest difference is the weekends (or days off). Get the tests that you can. Roni is right -- there may be some days where Tray is dropping into lower numbers and then bouncing.

(((Iorwen))) Mags and I send some vines to you and Tray. You've had a lot on your plate with a busy job and the added stress and worry with your Mom and this time of the year. Sending some healing vines for your Mom; how is she doing lately? That has to be so hard on you. I hope Tray comes down soon. Scritches to Tray.

I think you can get things back under control. They are not that far off. It looks like maybe the dose just came down too much and Tray lost momentum. When that happens, you usually have to go back up in dose until they hit another breakthrough. BUT I would also be careful about increasing the dose without a bit more data because he is probably not very far from a good dose. He had some low blue, and probably some green, on 3.5 so I would want to get some good data on 3.75 before increasing again. In my opinion, random spot checks on different days are much more useful than curves anyway, so keep getting them when you can.

Thank you, that sounds like a plan I can probablly handle

just want to send you a little encouragement, iorwen! tray will get back on track. you've had so much to deal with. hugs to you and your mom!

sending you and Tray man hugs and comfort vines...
may he find the right dose soon!

and may things be easier and better on all fronts for you, Iorwen...
you have had so much on your plate.

Hi Iorwen:

Just sending you and Tray supportive thoughts. I hope your DM will start feeling better soon. I know you've been worried about her.

Come on Tray..time to do better!!!

Sending some feel better vines to your mom, and some get a little flatter and a little lower vines to Tray man.

Hi Iorwen,
Tray will settle in soon, and if you can get a few more spot checks, as Libby, Sienne, and Roni recommend, you'll have a better idea of where he has been and how long it takes to get from "there to here". I hope that your mom will be doing better soon, too. Rusty wants to send her a beautiful bouquet of vines.

Wishing you a good evening,
Hang in there!

Ella & Rusty

Iorwen, I wish I could give you great advice, but Simon seems to be doing the same thing lately. I think I will have to take others advice on your condo and keep increasing slightly until there is a breakthrough that lasts more than a day. I hope Tray also gets a breakthrough soon and starts coming down for you. Very frustrating, isn't it?!

I hope your Mom is doing ok. Many hugs to you, Tray, and your Mom tonight.
