Georgia and Simon (GA)

It has been a little bit of time since I posted, so here is the update.
Simon has been mainly in the 200's but yesterday went down to low 50's. He is back up again this morning. I think he is not happy that I am giving most of my attention lately to Cleo. Cleo is still not eating much on her own (maybe 1/2 of FF can). I have tried every kind of food and she won't even eat her favorite food, dry kibble. I am syringe feeding her 3 times a day and she is doing pretty well with it. It has been almost 2 weeks and I do not see any change. I am getting pretty discouraged  I have tried an appetite stimulant but she didn't even want to eat after that. She also gets ondansetron and pepcid for stomach acid issues due to CKD. Any advice is welcome.

DH is doing great helping me with all of this. I don't know how I would be doing it without him. He even did everything on his own when I went down to visit my cousin in Florida on Sunday and Monday.

Please send healing eating vines and prayers to my little Cleo. Thanks so much!

Morning Georgia ~O) ~O) ~O)

I wish I could help... but have no experience with what Cleo is dealing with. I send as many healing vines as I can, eating vines too, as I know that is important with what she has. Be well little one.

My best to you and DH. It is wonderful that he is helping you. Hugs to all. Simon, you keep on truckin'.

Re: 12/19 Simon AMPS 302

Georgia, so sorry there's not better news with Cleo, but glad the syringe feeding is going okay. So glad you have DH to help. I hope Simon comes down today. They do get jealous of each other. Sending mega appy vines for sweet Cleo and strength and comfort vines for you and DH.

Re: 12/19 Simon AMPS 302

Hi guys .. I wish I could offer you some kind of advice that would help, but I really don't know what to say ... just keeping you guys in my thoughts and prayers that cleo starts eating better and that simon shows you nice steady numbers ... ((hugs)) hang in there!

Re: 12/19 Simon AMPS 302

hi Georgia,
sorry to hear about Cleo and her lack of appy...

can you add the Clinicare to her syringe feeding and try adding more syringes to the meals you are currently assist feeding her with?

the stimulant won't work if there are other underlying issues....just so you know....

Re: 12/19 Simon AMPS 302

(((((Georgia))))) Sending appy vines to Cleo. That is really tough. We also give cerenia to Zener in addition to ondansetron and zantac. We use zantac instead of pepcid because it helps a bit with stomach motility. The cerenia is for anti-nausea but seems to help with stomach pain too. There is an injection (with HUGE needle and expensive  but works better if the cat is vomiting) or pill form (which are small and cheaper). Have you done ultrasound and x-ray?
Liz

Thanks so much for all your eating prayers and wishes for my sweet Cleo. Today she ate a little dry food but not much. Claudia, I am adding the clinicare to her food that I syringe so hopefully, that will help.

Liz, Cleo had an ultrasound a couple of a months ago and it showed she had an enlarged spleen, but the biopsy did not show anything significant. Her bloodwork shows very low white blood cell count. Her vet put her on an antibiotic.

I am going to take her on Saturday for a re-check and ask about x-rays to see if that shows anything. Tonight, she seems ok and looks alert and really doesn't look like there is anything wrong except not eating.

Meanwhile, Simon is posting much better numbers tonight.

Sorry I haven't been able to get to condos today. I miss reading all your news!
