RECAP OF Smudge's PMS cycle:
we had a very relaxed and groovy free-range Adoptocat evening, until time to retire. When i got ready to crawl into bed, Smudge apparently was displeased, and began to hiss and growl at me when i picked her up to move her aside off the pillows. I tried the Gentle Finger Head Bop between the ears, and she launched into INXS's "The Devil Inside"- and started slapping, snarling, and scratching me, which sent Annie scrambling under the bed and Binks sallying to my rescue. closed binks out, held her on the floor by the scruff until she quieted down...then initiated nighttime lockdown again. it's crazy, because when she's loose...she sticks to me like velcro...but it IS trying to correct 6 years of confusion for a very alpha female...
we'll start again this morning.
Ranch interlude:
Binks, however, got to go on a much enjoyed outing with me this am. i'm taking care of a friend's stable for a cpl days (horses & goats, not anything illegal  )...and packed the grey kitten into his little flannel papoose-carrier and took him along with me this morning. He had a blast! loved the horses...not so much the goats...but was able to let him prowl the feed/tack room for awhile. Then i checked his pockets for illegal mouse immigrants (none found...good boy!) and now we're kicking it with nice lil ol' green nummers! he was a little downcast that there was no manger or wise men...but i explained that this is a different kind of stable...
