Good Caturday Morning, Everyone,

24 degrees with snow this morning.

Rusty had a good night, sleeping on the bed with us for most of it. He got up once to finish his food. I heard him singing, too, and purring up a storm. We had a good test (2 pokes) this morning, and a pretty good shot (but Edward had to carry him to his bowl so I could give the shot!). Some breakfast has been consumed. We had a brief play with Red Ears, but Big Bug was not wanted this morning. 4 Ps so far. This afternoon we'll put up the Xmas tree and it will be fun to see what Rusty makes of it.

Everyone have a good day. I've got to tackle the Xmas cards today.

Rusty sounds so cute Ella....love to hear about him singing! We can't wait to hear about the tree....
I am going to start on my cards today! I mean it! Seriously, I AM! Good luck with yours...you have been saying that for a couple of days you know. I felt shamed when you said it the other day cause I knew I wouldn't get to mine that day. You were so good to write them out ...but you didn't really do it??? I hope you are successful today...it is becoming a real chore in my mind now. I shudda done it earlier!! Famous last words! :lol:

Hi Ella - wow!! 24 and snowing... :-D :-D Wish I could say that about us. I would have to go to the mountains for that.

Good luck with your tree. I hope Rusty likes it. Mannie loves his - it is his favorite nap spot. And the cards - I haven't even started mine - got to get that done! I keep thinking there's always tomorrow - oh sure! Running out of tomorrow's.... ..

Hey Rusty - you wanna go and visit Spot? He's in lockdown - into the droolers food, and well he's up on the pink floor... and confined to quarters. maybe we can go and rescue him and then hang out some. ~~ Mannie

Another nice condo for Rusty. Glad he is still singing. Anxious awaiting an update on his appraisal of the Tree. Good luck with the cards. Glad your weather has improved. Have a great day.

Wish there was someway you could post a video of Rusty singing...that would be a treat. Nice day for him!!

I got my cards done...now I just have to get them in the mail :lol: :lol: How did Christmas sneak up so fast?

Have a super day and I hope you are getting ready for the kitties' Christmas party...should be quite the event!

Great WCR for Rusty, you are truly a family already. At least Tess isn't the only kitty w/out a tree yet. i swear we are getting it today and putting it up tomorrow! Cards, welllllll, it won't be the first time they didn't happen. It certainly cuts down on the list. :roll:

Ella,

Rusty knows about xmas trees. I always go to a farm and cut a live tree. So Rusty slept under the last two Christmas trees I had. And they were good sized trees:)

Be sure you put a tarp under the tree. I think the males mark under the tree. Whether Rusty did, I don't know given I had 4 males here last year.

Claudia, I just saw your message as I was about to send this. It might explain Rusty's reaction to the tree. He may have been expecting other male cats?? Well, read my message (below) and see what you think.

The tree has been brought in and set in its stand (we won't decorate it until probably Monday, however). For those of you who were waiting in great anticipation for the Rusty tree report: Rusty is not enamored of the Xmas tree. In fact, he meowed loudly when he saw it, almost as if he was afraid of it! And he has been keeping his distance from it. I wonder if it evoked some memory from his distant past. Anyway, he went over to his cushion on the floor next to the radiator. He came in the kitchen, hungry for his dinner (Wellness Chicken), but then ate only a few bites (he gobbled up all the freeze-dried chicken treats, however; I believe he much prefers Wellness Turkey to Wellness Chicken and I may swap it out later, if he hasn't eaten any more). I hope he will accept the Xmas tree. It doesn't seem right that a Maine Coon Cat/ Norwegian Forest Cat wouldn't like trees!

I never did start on the Xmas cards, but did send a Holiday e-mail. Cards will be written tomorrow.
We hope everyone had a good day. Back later (we're going to watch a movie on TV now).

Interesting on his reaction to the tree. wow - maybe it's just because it is something new in the house and he's not sure that it should be there. I hope he accepts it too. I will have to send Mannie over to show him the art of sleeping under the tree.

have a great night - a movie sound really good. I may have to do the same. Nice on the holiday email. I go the cards done finally, still need to make the mail though. hard to believe that we only have a week! where did the time go...

Nighttime report:

Rusty still keeping his distance from the Xmas tree, but after I took away the Wellness Chicken and substituted Turkey, he ate with good appetite, contributed the 5th P to the litterbox, and tore around the livingroom with his mice and his ball. Then we had a game of Big Bug and now we're going to bed.
