Gracie's Yesterday

Good afternoon and Happy Sunday! Sending thoughts and prayers to Shanga, Rocket, Tawny, and especially to Sonia and Tom.
Mamabean is pulling her hair out over these numbers. We are not sure if there is a pen problem (pen is new as of 12/2 but has a bubble...no floaties) or just not enough insulin. Because I lean towards not enough insulin due to the
newness of the pen, I increased her back to f1.25u this morning. Gracie usually kicks in after 10 cycles if she's going to and she just hasn't on the sk1.25u. Her SS hasn't looked this bad in quite a while. I'm also concerned because she's lost 8 ounces since 10/27. No..that is not a fast decrease and it is less than the 1%/week that Dr. Lisa discusses but it's unusual for Gracie. The only thing I can think of is she just hasn't had any extra feedings or gravy/karo like she was getting and that she'sjust down to her normal calories. I am going to keep a close eye on her weight and if she continues to lose, she gets more bloodwork and a trip to the vetty after Christmas. She seems to feel great....she has been uber playful and it could be that between not having the extra food and playing so much, she's just slowly losing some weight. @-) @-) She is still a bit on the pudgy side because she has such a stocky build (but she has a defined waistline) but she's so tiny that her ideal weight is probably about 6.5-7 lbs. I don't want her that "thin", though. One of my close friends has one of Gracie's sisters and McKenna (same height/length, etc as Gracie) and she weighs 6 lbs and is healthy.
DM is doing better. Doc says she has made big improvement lately but she prolly won't be released until Tues/Wed. She's much more lucid and joking. Yesterday she was talking to the nurse and they both heard this "ethereal" music and Mom told the nurse she wondered if the angels were coming and the nurse said "if they are, I'm not standing next to you" and they got a big laugh out of it. Come to find out, the music was the opening of the movie "The Notebook" which was on the TV. :lol: :lol: Mom was still laughing about it this morning. She still has alot of pain :roll: :roll: @-)
I've been too lazy this morning so need to get moving. I'll be back in a bit....need to get a shower and do the breffis dishes. Have a great day.
