Day 2 on trying the raw and she's still eating it! Transitioning slowly though so hopefully she'll not have any problems

Another shocker at +2....that's quite a drop China!! Where you going? Tried giving her a little medium carb food so we'll just have to see what she has planned for the rest of the cycle

Tomorrow morning is the big dental so it'll be a very long day with a lot of extra driving...about 4 hours worth....I can hardly wait!!

Hope everyone is having a good Wednesday and everyone's kitties are feeling frisky! Sending healing fines to those who need them!!

Jeepers Chris! Is that the raw food that is having such an effect on China's numbers? Stay up little girl! The higher end of the lagoon is better and safer than the low end.
Great news that she's still enjoying her raw. Ugh on all the driving tomorrow. Will be praying for excellent roads and weather for you as well as great dental vines for China :-D

Not sure yet Kim, but she did the same thing yesterday when we started the raw, so it's a definite possibility!! She went from about 5% carbs(Fancy Feast) to 0% for the Primal Raw so that's a pretty good drop (especially if they're a really carb sensitive)

We'll just have to hang in there and see how she does...but I'm pleased so far!!

And yeah...I wish she'd surf a little higher too...but she seems to like the 50's...so I'll take the 74 and maybe even see if I can get a nap in this afternoon (forgot I had to take mom for a follow up visit with the neurologist tomorrow too so it'll be a VERY long day)

Easy does it China - here's a good spot to surf now.

Great that she's liking the raw. Mine love theirs. Is she still eating the pheasant? I see it and turkey are the only 0% carbs although the others are low. It'll be interesting to see if there is a difference when you try another meat.

So, are you a nervous mom like me today waiting for dental day? nailbite_smile Jill made a comment in Crushy's condo after his dental - if there are extractions/infection, might want to not give raw for a couple of days. There should be no bad organisms in the raw, but I'm thinking of switching Neko to canned after the dental for a day or so depending on what she gets done. Also, the canned food is softer, requires less chewing. Do you have all meat baby food around, just in case China has a hard time eating. I can't get pure meat baby food here. Argh! All varieties here seem to come with onions.

I am sorry you will have to do so much driving tomorrow, I hope the weather holds for you.
I am curious, which Primal Raw are you feeding? (I know it is pheasant flavored) I looked at one kind of raw mix Primal offers (4 different flavors), but it had a lot of veggies and fruits in it.

Absolutely..I've called the vet's office 3 times today asking questions nailbite_smile This is her very first dental, and being so far away has me pretty tied up in knots over it, but I have to drive back home, take mom to the neurologist and then wait until I can go pick her up...don't know when that'll be yet either (was afraid to call a 4th time to ask...I'm sure they already think "Oh no..what have we got ourselves in to?" :lol: )

Good idea...I hadn't even thought that far ahead, but that's a good point. Yes, I do have a couple jars of baby food ready just in case! Had to go to 3 stores to find it, but got Beech Nut Chicken and Turkey and the only other ingredients are chicken broth, turkey broth

Here are the ingredients of the pheasant (what I found was a "trial pack" that had 4 flavors..3 "nuggets" of each of 4 flavors..pheasant, turkey, beef & salmon, chicken & salmon)...there are some fruits and veggies, but the food chart has the pheasant and turkey at 0% carbs, beef/salmon 6%, chicken/salmon 2%...it's the Frozen Formulas


Feline Pheasant Formula
Ingredients: Pheasant (with ground bone), Pheasant Livers, Pheasant Gizzards, Pheasant Hearts, Organic Celery, Organic Mustard Greens, Organic Squash, Cranberries, Blueberries, Organic Pumpkin Seeds, Organic Sunflower Seeds, Minerals (Zinc Sulfate, Copper Carbonate, Selenium), Sardine Oil, Taurine, Organic Apple Cider Vinegar, Organic Quinoa Sprout Powder, Dried Organic Kelp, Organic Cilantro, Organic Coconut Oil, Cod Liver Oil, Organic Ginger, Natural Vitamin E

And WOW..what a bounce China!! Of course you'd bounce into the 300's for the first time in almost a month the night before your dental....Think you could make it any harder on your old bean??? :shock:

Very interesting about the raw-food experiment. I wish we could try some of those foods, but most have fish or fish oils in them and Rusty is allergic to fish. (It is really hard finding foods for him: beef allergy and fish allergy!)

I hope you have good weather for your drives tomorrow. Good luck with your mom, too.

Just adding our "good dental" and "save driving" vines to the pile. And cool about the switch to raw is going! I'm sure tonight's bounce will be short-lived....
