Hello again it's been a while.

Monty had a suspected pancreatitis flare up today and I had to take him in for emergency subcutaneous fluids. I've got him on painkillers now and I'm about to head out to buy some chicken breast - he's only eating when I stroke him.

His remission has been going well, usually I'm measuring around 75 on blood sugar once a month, today he was at 195. The vet tells me this is likely stress related to pancreatitis. I've been advised to take daily measurements after his pancreatitis symptoms go away to check he's still in remission. He's been vomiting, grinding teeth, hiding and has a low appetite.

His bloods showed elevated neutrophils and white cells. Liver normal. Higher urea but likely caused by dehydration.

His blood pressure is normal at 130 and his grade 1 murmur is the same.

He's had an injection for nausia and vomiting.

Previously on pancreatitis the anti nausia medicine didn't help with appetite, this time we're trying painkillers (vetergesic) and if he won't eat or continues to vomit I'll grab some anti nausia tomorrow.

For now he's eating boiled chicken, albeit slowly and I've cancelled my plans for tomorrow to keep him under observation.

I agree about ondansetron every 8 hours. Make sure the dose is right as well. Very important to control nausea.
