Looks like Micio have some sort of infection on his upper canine and appears to have some facial swelling too so I'm trying to take him to an emergency clinic asap.
Hoping that he may just need some antibiotics and wonder if that will somehow interfere with insulin?
Next shot should be in 5 hours but what if we won't make it back home by that time?
With any kind of infection, do I still give the same insulin dose and increase by .25u at the end of the 6th cycle?
Wonder if that's why Micio's numbers have risen in the last couple of days...?

UPDATE: ER doctor says il looks like a tooth abscess and for now will just give pain meds and antibiotics but will have to schedule Micio for dental and possible extractions …now, Micio has heart murmur and the only board certified dentist in my state happens to be in this clinic but he’s booked till March so, I don’t know if Micio can be on meds for soo long…already have an appointment with my vet for a follow up on 31 December and we’ll discuss that. My vet doesn’t know yet that Micio is up to 3.25 u of insulin so, I’m expecting her to kick me out! And nearly impossible to find a new vet in my area
QUESTION: if his BG were high because infection should I stay at 3.25u till antibiotics will kick in?

I’m sorry Micio has an infection in his mouth. I’m glad you are going to the vet.
Take the insulin with you and I would make sure he gets his scheduled dose on time. Once you know what’s going on, ask for advice regarding dose but stay with current dose for now.
I would also test for ketones in the urine if you have a bottle of Ketostix at home. Otherwise ask the vet to check them while you are there.
Is he eating ok?
Yes the infection could raise the BGs up. let us know how you get on.

Going to feed him shortly and give him insulin, I did test for ketones yesterday but I can try before we go in about 1-1/2 hour or so...problem will be waiting time it's crazy everywhere! He's been eating just fine but trying to hide cause he's not feeling good.
Is it ok if I give the shot about 15-20 minutes before schedule?

Thank for quick reply, at the ER now and they just took him in, cannon go in with my baby though but doctors will talk to me as they need. Will keep u updated
