Good morning,
I had a big dilemma happening this morning.
I made a decision based on only a few hours of interrupted sleep.
Blaze woke me up a few times during the night...he wanted attention. He had shown some symptoms of nausea yesterday but he still ate a little yesterday.
I tried to get him to eat something whe he was waking me up but he didn't want anything. He finally settled...but obviously I didn't cause I couldn't go back to sleep.
Anyways, at morning shot, he was 313, I gave him his food. He ate only minimal...close to nothing. I waited. After about 10/15 minutes he ate, he threw it all up. Mostly liquid and some wet food.
I didn't feel comfortable giving him a full dose of insulin because I am unable to test today. I will come back later in the evening. I don't want him to vomit all day and have full insulin to wear off and risk a hypo situation. I did give him 1/4 of cerena though.
I didn't want to skip all together...because I didn't want the depot to be affected.
So I gave him 1U only.
Did I screw it all up?
I just can't go to work worried sick he could throw up, not keeping anything down and have a full dose of insulin.
When I tested just now at +2 he went to 360.
I don't know, I hope my decision was ok.
I will read possible answers to this dilemma during recess at school.
Thanks everyone
