happy friday, lantus land...

we had to vacate the house when i got suspicious about the wiring due to the water heater fire, and it turned out we had to have major electrical repairs. At least we caught it before anything bad happened. so the cats and i stayed at the momster's, and i had loaned the laptop to my cousin...didnt enjoy being separated from our lantus family...

the boy ran yellows and pinks during the day wednesday, i presume due to the relocation...blues yesterday, and i was so tired last night i didnt wake up until +11 this am, when he tested a really nice green.

now off to check in on the goings on...
our thoughts are with mj, donny, and his big buddy Butthead today...
and hope that all is well here on the forum!

YAY!!! You're back with great numbers!!! So sorry about the house and thank heavens you caught it!!! Scary!!! Hope you had fun at the unamommers and got all your shopping with Tam done. Could you suspect the tortis on the electrical problems?? :lol: :lol:

so the cats sat me down now that we are back in our own lair, and were asking for an explanation of the behavior they witnessed from the unamommer and my nephew the last two days.
i hemmed and hawed a lot, and finally said "look, guys...they're only human" and they immediately all pointed vehemently at the laptop.
Message IMPOSSIBLE to mis-interpret...

My only answer now is this:

"Yes...the folks on the forum are ALSO human...but they are EXCEPTIONAL humans...and believe me...it is a standard that we can only WISH the rest of the world could live up to!"

we really did miss it here...and even the girls (though they are on lockdown) seemed vastly relieved to get back home and have me back online.

so this will not will be the only time...but it seems like the perfect time to tell you all how very, very deeply we appreciate you!

I didn't know you had a fire - how scary! I'm glad everything is okay and repaired now. And glad to see you back too. :YMHUG: Nice amps for Binks! I think he's glad to be home.

And i for one know how you feel! Last week when mowgli came home from the vet, and I stayed home to watch him Friday..My laptop wall cord, CRAPPED OUT on me!---unacceptable I promptly spoke aloud to the kitties---
and I had 2% battery!
Let me tell you, I called my mom and said listen... EMERGENCY SITUATION HERE, I cannot leave today, must stay with mowgli, but you MUST GET ME A LAPTOP CORD AND BRING IT TO ME STAT!
I cannot imagine what I too would do without my LL family!
So please know, the feeling is mutual!!! :YMHUG:

Wonderful to have you back and hate to hear about what all was going I am so out of the loop myself I have missed condos pretty much for the most part all week and you do feel so out of touch but I have just had to make myself stay off my computer to get things done lately. Great numbers for Binks and sending you a Giant HUG

wondering if any of you have experienced this phenomenon...

we were barely gone from the house 2 days, and yet...i come back to find what feels like 2 wks worth of laundry, dishes, and cleaning :shock:

messy elves, perhaps??

and i gotta hand it to my irrepressible optimist "Kibble-B"...though i have kept on top of leaving the girls' dishes down, it's become almost a ritual for us:
each day when it's warm enough for them to go out, i open the bathroom door and Mr. Wonky-Legs makes a crooked but speedy "B-Line" into their room
in search of the "forbidden fruit".
he cracks me up...

now off to visit!

welcome back - we have indeed missed you! Sorry about the fire and all the electrical issues. Old house with ancient wiring? I used to live in this house way back in the darn ages where we decided to do some work and we taken back by the condition of the wiring: all porcelain insulators and the wires were wrapped in cloth. ohmygod_smile no plastic coating on all that copper: cloth. darn scary.

Awfully nice numbers for Binks today. EINNAM is another story. Binks you may have to come over and show him what green looks like again. He seems to have taken a detour...

Sorry to hear about the fire and relocation but glad that nothing worse happened. I know what you mean on feeling so lost without LL. It's like withdrawal. :shock:

Fire Marshal Binks to the rescue!! Hey Celi, we are very glad that you decided to check things out thoroughly after the hot-water-heater incident. Old wires are not good to have!! oh, binks has his lovely emerald heels on...and is going 'round singing "there's no place like home...long as the girls are on lockdown!"

actually, that's the opposite of the truth...he is continually asking me to let them out...but with all the other hullaballoo i'm trying to limit the variables affecting him...
twice i have tested...let them out...then tested half hour later, and seen no change...but i just couldnt bring myself to do anything that might toss him off this pretty green surfboard.

it's odd...before the 2 day relo...i decided that it just emphasizes the differences between them to keep them separated...i really think that it might just take a day or two of him ignoring the world at the top of his cat gym before they just relax and get in the groove...havent gotten around to the feliway yet.

but i figured that i'd hold off until tomorrow...havent seen a run like this for awhile...and i've missed it! (also doesnt hurt that my cuz brought over the most amazing couch/bed i've ever relaxed on...selfish lil ol me aint sorry to be in the living room.)

as far as the wiring goes...this house isn't old, but brief synopsis...my ex- brother in law worked for a Handyman outfit before he quit and started partying when sis was brought home from nursing home the first time. whatever he was indulging in inspired him to "renovate" the house in many ways...none of them good.
oh, the things we do when we're bored and unhappy...
for some reason, he decided to bypass the proper circuitry and rewire fans, electronics, etc...and NONE of it passes fire code. silly bugger...
thank goodness the water heater went up...cause i just wouldnt have thought to check something like that...not in my frame of reference to expect that kind of idiocy.

MY kind of idiocy...well, yeah...but HIS...nah... :lol:

wow...fabulous day DOTTIE!!! Glad them tortitudes are behaving in their sequestering chamber so Binksy can keep rockin' green.

Scary on the electrical wiring...so glad you were there to catch it. So you had to have the whole place rewired? YIKES!!!

So glad to have you back. LL ain't the same without you...just like Anne being gone but good things is good things and OTJ is just that!!

Celi, I'm glad the water heater fire was not more serious, yikes! Also glad that you fixed the electrical problem, hopefully things will settle down now!

what can i say? the boy likes his sleep at night.

i found the video camera, so i'll have to see if i can get some footage or at least catch him in a pic or two with the mouse. it's kind of funny...it's not scared of him at all...and the minute the girls are loose he's over by the pantry patrolling like an expectant father...can't blame him after all the hunting he's seen them do. the first cpl days...he'd chivvy it out of sight when i came in too...C'mon, binks...i havent even tried to shoo it outside yet...give me the benefit of a doubt...
i think he suffers from a height complex...willing to buddy up with a mouse but rude as all get out to a very social duck :shock: ...species identity problems a distinct possibility also...tho only since he met the girls... :lol:

well...i think i'll set 18 alarms and try to catch some sleep...
