Hi, Lantus Land.. we are oficially back. I wanted to begin her on Lantus asap with her last 3 checks being in the higher range. Thankfully we were able to get a single pen from a hospital pharmacy (thank you for the suggestion Ella & Sienne) Baby is acting 100% normal - there were no signs, just a random spot check. It was a year ago this week she was 1st diagnosed & next week would have been her 8 month annifursary! Just 2 weeks ago her BG was in the 50s.. I would like to get bloodwork done next month when I can afford it. Anyway.. Baby knows the routine & so do I.. I started her on .25 & am here to monitor all weekend. Unfortunately we are not near what her shot time will be, but I was always able to successfully move her shot times around in 30 minute increments until I got where I needed it to be. So, 10:30am now, will want it to 4am.. the fun begins ;-)

I am Ok & hope Baby is too.. I am not upset like I thought I would be, I just say.. she needs some Insulin, nothing I can do about it but give it & so here we are.

Good to "see" you all again & new kitties too :mrgreen:

Nicole, I am just speechless and honestly on the verge of tears.
My emotions are running way to high right now.
Luna last week, Baby now.
And with the holiday's around the corner.
I just wante you to know that I am thinking of you guys
and hope this is a little bump in the road.
I guess this all has hit me that they really are diabetics always.

I will be doing some more vigilant testing of Max.
Yesterday was his 8 months.

I'm sorry you have to be back, but at least you always have a home here. I'm glad Baby has no symptoms and I hope that means you can get her back on track quickly. Maybe she just needs a little juice for a little while.

Good outlook, Nicole! That's the way I feel with Spot. Hey, it was nice not having to be stuck to a 12/12 schedule and not having to run my life around his shots, tests, etc. But you know, I'm going to do whatever it takes to make my boy healthy and happy...like any good mum would feel!
I hope the juice brings your baby back down to some good numbers and your stint here in LL is just a short one!

Hi Nicole-

I was just lurking here on LL and was shocked to see you here. At first I thought it must be a different Nicole and Baby. I'm sorry you are back here but happy that you know what you are doing and that Baby knows the routine. And you are a great Mom. Last year I started in November with Boomer. You started a little after me and I remember Baby's legendary hypo and all the help you got. Wow.

Because of what I learned here, I only feed Merlin non-grain wet food (Wellness)with occassional low carb Core dry. Hopefully I can keep him from ever getting diabetes and/or IBD that my poor Boomer had.

I know you and Baby will do okay. I actually have 2 Solostar pens that haven't been opened if you'd like them I'd gladly donate them and mail them to you. Let me know if you think you'll need them.

agreed on the hope it's just a short return, and on the fact that your posts are upbeat and entertaining.

and, this will reveal Binks narcissistic tendencies...but he has always looked long and hard at Baby's pics whenever you post...and he thinks she is GORGEOUS! :lol:

Hi Nicole & Baby! What must be, must be!! But just think how lucky you are to have all that experience and not to be just starting out with FD! Very nice +7. Have a good weekend with good numbers!

Hi, Nicole and Baby! Johnny and I just returned at the end of November after almost three months OTJ, so I kind of know how you feel. I'm disappointed, but I feel like it's just what we need to do right now to help him.

Nice looking numbers today from Baby! :mrgreen:

OK, Just a blip in the road, hopefully a short stay, but you know I love Having you here...Moonie too loves Baby..
We will see that Baby goes back to the Falls real soon--The power of lantus land!!

You had 8 good months, and there will be more to come!!! Sending Hugs to you from Us !!
 
Diabetic kitties, always have a surprise in store for us. Hope she finds her way back to the Falls. Glad you caught it early. Think of all the experience you have since your first night on LL. LOL. That was quite a night. Baby, keep up the good work and get back to the Falls. We miss you there.
