Zener is doing fine this morning. He was nibbling on my fingers as I was petting him. I don't think he's done that for quite a while! When he first came to live with us, he was quite the licker and nibbler. He was only 5 weeks old and we think he missed his mama. Still high this morning and I was glad it wasn't higher. We'll see what today brings. Thinking of Violet's daughter Charlotte and Garland, Desi and Tawny, Shanga and Pallid, Marje and DM, Jill and DH and other ailing kitties and beans. Happy Friday LL!

With everything else in place, successful dental, feeling good, etc., the numbers will follow. We'll have a blue/green Zener in no time!

Oh Zener! Come on down buddy. The toothie thing is all over and you can relax now. Yellow is much better than pink. Great to hear that he is doing things he hasn't done since pre-FD. That makes it all worth it.

@Melissa - thanks for reminding Zener it's all over and he can relax! Looks like we may need to start talking to Mr Liver again. ;-)

@Lisa - we agree, yellow would be nice and blue would be fabulous! :razz:

Zener is acting like he doesn't feel all that great, so we gave him another dose of Bupe if it's pain related and some pepcid if it's his tummy. Will sure be glad with this course of antibiotics is over on Tuesday.

Come on down from there, Zener! Those antibiotics can wreak havoc on the tummy, I bet he will be happy when those are done. Hope you guys are having a great Friday!

Sounds like Zener is teething on you!! What a sweet baby! Hope his toofies feel better by tomorrow!
I always love when a kitty exhibits old behaviors, means they are getting better--WHOOO HOOOO!!!

Zener, let's see you come down now since you got your toothies fixed. Maggie says she will meet you when you come down to low yellows! I'm glad he is feeling better, Anne, as that's what is important. Have a nice afternoon.

What a great WCR for Zener today so soon after his dental!! Glad he saw some blue yesterday. Come on back down now big nibblin' guy!!! :-D

Wow....lots of snow up there at Snowbowl!!! And in Flag. Holy cow!! Hope we can give you some warm weather this next week, Liz.

He is starting to slowly slide toward a better color! He hasn't felt great his AM cycle, but seems to be doing a bit better now, perhaps the pepcid @+4.5 is helping a little. He just had a soft poo (not pudding or liquipoo) in the litter box and after covering it, sort of (boys are messy), he dashed down the hall to his sunny spot in the living room and started to clean himself! :-D

@Rhanda, thanks for stopping in with get better wishes!

@Melissa & Bailey - we will be as happy as Zener when the ABs are over, it's Tuesday...oh, did I tell you we finish ABs on Tuesday? Well we do, not that we are counting the days...until Tuesday. ;-)

@Roni - ah, so this is like teething behavior? I don't nuthin' about babies, just kittens! :lol:

@Ann - maybe Maggie and Zener can meet up tonight on the mellow yellow floor?

@Marje-ah, whole cat report! I had to go and look that one up on the lantus slang! :oops: Yes, he did see blue yesterday and we wonder if this is still everything wonky from the procedure and the ABs and maybe a bounce too? His appy isn't the best this am cycle but hoping some pepcid will help. Yep, we got us some snow here! We had about 18+ inches in town and the ski area at Snowbowl opened today, they had several feet from our last blast and more is forecast for this weekend. Liz is looking forward to some nice Tucson weather. All of our best wishes and healing snowflakes (and we got lots of 'em) to your DM. :YMHUG:

I guess we hoped he would feel better within a day or two after his dental. :roll: That was magical thinking! We didn't even consider the effect of the anesthesia, the antibiotics, the stitches, having your mouth cranked open and intubated and so on. Spending a couple of hours at the dentist yesterday for three filings reminded me how sore your jaw and mouth can get and I didn't have nearly the trauma the big guy did. cat_pet_icon

Oh flat boy! Pink is not your color Zener. I hope he starts to feel better. He went through a lot with his dental so it will probably take him a few days to get back at it. Hope you both have a great night and scritches to Zener and Tillie!!

We were glad to see Zener asking for food, though it was 2 hours before his PMPS time! Liz stalled him with some FDCK @+10 and then we thought we'd better give him his pepcid, but weren't paying attention to how close it was to his shot time. We're hoping the PMPS was a bit of a food spike.

@Melissa - we agree, pink is so not Zener! He seems to be feeling better this evening than he did today. Liz gave Zener his scritches from you while I was getting his shot ready. :razz:

Paws crossed we see something other than pink (or higher floors :shock: ) tonight! Happy Friday evening everyone.

Zener is eating okay, not great, but at least he's eating enough we can give him his insulin. :smile: This is his 3rd day since the dental and we gave some Bupe this morning, but none since. We have a little more left, if we need it, but he acts more like his tummy is unsettled than he has pain. The bupe seems to make him pretty lethargic too, so we are hoping we're done with that. We have 4 more days on antibiotic, not that we're counting or anything. :roll:

poor little guy. i was hoping to check in and see that zener was feeling back to normal! antibiotics can make you feel so crummy. hope the pepcid takes care of it. hugs!

I was so into myself today, I didn't even check into ZenerLand. I know his numbers will improve as soon as his mouth feels better.

Maybe that was a food spike @+3.5, or his ABs from +2.5 or he's just a cat? :?

@Julie - he feels pretty so-so, not exactly crummy but not his regular self yet. No more bupe so maybe he will get a bit more energy, though we suspect we won't see the effect of his dental kick in until he is off the ABs. He doesn't seem to be in pain and his lack of enthusiasm for food is more like when his tummy was bugging him. We are giving him pepcid twice a day while on the ABs. We may contact the vet Monday and see if we can stop the ABs, depending on his poo and eating. :roll:

@Kathy - excellent medical staff :lol: ! Well, we do try our best! We are keeping an eye on Kitty for her next foray to dental-land, paws crossed for an on-time appointment! :-D

It sure is nice to see something other than pink on day 3 post-dental! Sweet dreams of blues and green. Ni Ni LL. I-) I-) I-)
