Re: 12/16 Tess AMPS~319

Hi guys! I hope all is well with Tess this morning. So sorry for the ER visit, the urine issue, etc. What a stressful night for everyone. Wow....

Very interesting and informative comment from Dr Lisa in yesterday's condo. Another one to save.

Tess???? You OK???? I am so worried about you. You had to go to the ER vetty? Was it awful? I am getting the KTSS together and we will come and give your spa treatment and bring some chicken soup too. You just hafta get better. See you later! ~~ Mannie

Re: 12/16 Tess AMPS~319 +2~313

I am so sorry that Tess had blood in her urine and was in distress. That ER visit couldn't have been fun either. I'm sending healing vines to Tess today and I hope the ABs will help. I'm glad to read this morning that she was eating better too. I know how stressful this is, so be sure and take care of yourself too. :YMHUG:

Re: 12/16 Tess AMPS~319 +1~313

That was some night last night, but we are glad to hear that Tess is doing better this morning. Too bad you had to stress her (and yourselves) with the visit to the ER vet. That was good advice that you got from Dr. Lisa. We are sending all kinds of healing vines and snowflakes to Tess today to help her get back to her healthy self.
Check back with you later,
Hugs,
Ella & Rusty

Thanks for all the concern, sorry to be so late, but i didn't get to bed until after 2:30am. Tess seems much better this morning, much more alert and purring. She even had a bout with the feather. Her appetite is fine as well this morning.

I just got off the phone w/ our vet and she agreed that now that we have started the ABs a C and S should wait until after Tess is finished with them if we feel it necessary. Dr. Mimi also mentioned that would be the time for a bladder exam, X-ray I think she said. She actually called me! I was already on the phone w/ the clinic receptionist, but it was so nice that she is involved enough with her patients to call as soon as she saw the report faxed over by the ER.

Tess's +2 was down a little but nothing dramatic, I didn't do a +3 because she just had a bout of diarrhea and needed a butt cleaning so she was a little upset w/ me. I think she is also annoyed that I show up every time I hear her in the LB, a girl likes her privacy. We have the Breeze box and I have been checking the pad regularly, there is very little sign of blood compared to last night.

One interesting thing the ER vet said was that Cosequin not only helps for joint pain and movement, but also can have a soothing effect on the bladder. so we will be getting some today.

I'm really brain fogged this morning and this has taken me to +4 to get written, so time for another test ...........249 at +4.

Mannie, having KTSS come would be so nice! Mom gave me a good brushing, but i still smell like vet! Good news is I don't have to go to the other vet now! Soup and Curative Catmint Tea are just what I need. And the Spa Treatment of course! We have sun here too so, we can bask and relax afterward. -- Tess

ETA: I've been having internet problems too, sorry if this is a double post.

Ann...how bizarre..I posted on your condo this morning but it isn't there. That is so weird!! I went back and checked yesterday's condo to see if I accidentally put it there but it wasn't.

Anyway....I'm glad she's better. Yes, absolutely cosequin CAN help for bladder inflammation..so can feline duralactin in the capsules. We gave both to Gracie for her chronic sterile cystitis but since she has now been totally detoxed of the aluminum, she is off both of them. Did you get a chance to ask her about some bupe for pain?
I'm glad Dr. Lisa stepped in last night....my thoughts were the same as hers except I don't know how much FD increases the chance for bacteria to form. Are you giving her some acidophilus? I always give it when my cats are on ABs...helps their systems stay in balance and they don't get diarrhea from the ABs. (((TESS)))

Tess...we are on our way over with KTSS!! We gots to make you feel better. I'm bringing Mr. Goofey face Tobey!! He says he will show you the position (below) for your KTSS massage.

My Tilei (GA) was started on Cosequin and she had her daily sprinkle on her food until the day she died. Once we started on it, the bladder inflammation etc. never returned. Our vet explained at the time the bladder is similar tissue wise to joint tissue and the Cosequin strengthens that tissue. At least that's what I understood. As far as I was concerned at the time...it worked great!

I am glad Tess is feeling better. YAY! Sure learn alot here, don't we - did not know about the cosequin.

Looks like a mellow yellow day for Tess - has been for Mannie too. well, at least it has for what portion of it I was home for.

Have a great night - nice relaxing one.

Tess - You look so much better after your massage and spa treatment. Tobey sure knows his stuff huh. Was the soup OK? I hope so.... I am all for your sunny weather - can I stay while longer? ~~ Mannie

Sorry you guys had to do the trip to the ER. Glad she's settled down and doing better. Wishing the clavomox fixes her back up.

I didn't know that about cosequin. Good to know. I'm going to get Mavericks' two boxes out now that I bought months ago. I want to start him on these before they expire. The diabetes diagnosis delayed things for us.

Hugs to Tess.

Re: 12/16 Tess AMPS~319 PMPS~353 +1~366 +2~354 +3~345

Things have bee going pretty well , but we needed a little time to sort things out this evening. Tess has been napping a lot today and I'm catching up around here. A little trouble with very slow connection too.

I have some buprenex on hand and our vet said to give it to her if she showed distress. I haven't seen any more blood in her urine, but she still is having trouble peeing so I gave her a dose of bupe. Tess has been napping most of the evening after that. And yes I'm giving her fortiflora 2 hours after the clavamox. There was still another bout of diarrhea though.

Her numbers are up, but that is to be expected. Food is no problem however. Sorry I didn't get to condos again today. Tomorrow I promise!
