Good morning all and with thanks for all the vines and support for Azalea and her surgery that we're heading out to soon.

Sootie's ambg 68.:D It's the lowest it's ever been for this time of day. Crossing paws that it's a good sign. Am putting out med carb before miss A and I head out and a can of MC for DH to feed around noontime. Hope DH can read my sticky note handwriting on the can.

Here's a pic of azalea just now, finally out from under the bed and with sunbeams. Letting her rest while I finish packing up remedies and the Traumeel creme (a la Bobbie's tip!), xtra carrier bedding etc.

Will update soon as know more . Apologies for not yet replying to each's vines and prayers and well wishes in these most recent hours but I surely intend to do so.

With bushelsful of vines from all of us for each and every bean and fur baby in LL to have a smooth sailing happy appy (including you, Gussie!) and no crises day.
Love and hugs and prayers for all in need,
Sina, Sootie, Azalea and tribe ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

What a great start for Sootie Of course he has to pop a low number as you won't be around some today

Wishing you and Azalea the very best today! When I say I know all the emotions you are experiencing today, I truly do. Trust in the universe to hold Azalea in the light today. Typing through tears as I am going through this with you today :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

I'm glad Azalea was able to get some peaceful sleep. Sending prayers for her surgery today and calming prayers to you. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Nice start for Sootie. I'm glad DH can keep an eye on her.

Beautiful picture of Azalea :bighug::bighug::bighug:
Sending tons and tons of hopes and prayers for your baby:bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sootie is looking good! :D It's been a long time since you gave her any insulin right?
BTW: She CAN'T go hypo if you have not shot insulin, hoping that was shared with you somewhere along the way here...so if that's on your worry list, if you have not added insulin into her system you can cross that one off:bighug::bighug::bighug:

Safe journeys, safe surgery and safe outcome sweet Azalea!

Miss A and I arrived a wee bit early but was a good time bc soon after we got checked in, with doc coming out to see her and talk about yesterday's b/w (he was actually quite happily surprised to see that her bun and creatinine both in normal range), and the post op pain meds. He's suggesting bupe that he provide in oral syringes so that I can fine tune doses according to her sensitivities and needs.

Azalea was very calm during the drive up here. We talked and thought, energy emanating and in assuring azalea that she indeed is our little engine that could and would and can and am! I also showed and demonstrated to the techs how a gentle touch and petting on her forehead really does help her to feel calm, assured and not disoriented. They saw for themselves that she relaxed right away. Kinda in the acupuncture permission area along forehead.

Gonna get a bit of breffis and then check in. Kelly said probably 1:30'ish when Azalea will be in recovery with anesthesia wearing off.

Hugs and love and tons and tons of vines for all and ❤️❤️❤️ for the extra vines for Azalea and her support team!!!

Bbl soon and crossing paws. ❤️❤️❤️

Thank you all for hugs and vines and ❤️❤️❤️
OV's staff just called (was just wending my way back there after breffis) . Azalea just out of surgery and is resting. All went well during surgery and should be able to come home mid afternoon. Will know more when see Dr. B.
Crossing paws and thanking for holding Azalea so near in protective healing light.
Love
Sina

Bucketloads of fast heeling vines on their way. :bighug: I am so happy the surgery was a success. :joyful: Interesting about her touch point on top of her head. My civie Theo is the same. Vetty has noticed his heart rate drop when I rub him there.

BTW, you could have left low carb food out for Sootie. It's been a long time without insulin so can't go hypo now.

Head boink here.
Just chalk it up to neural grooves and maybe a touch of 'just in case' bc Sootie #'s steadily declining on own. Of course I have to over worry it all:eek:. ;)

Heading to the OV's now. Back on soon and hugs and vines and thanks all!

Realizing I got all a muddle in writing as a reply for all and Wendy and Les who'd reminded me about not worrying about hypos when no insulin given!

We are home around 3:30 pm ET. Azalea and I now in her room, she took some time to walkabobble herself out of her carrier. Where did she head to first? LB (weewee pads in front of LB), trying to shake off the cos. Stayed there a few minutes, thinking it all over, and then kabooom right to her nook under bed. The one place I hadn't yet fortressed. Luckily she settled herself on the cushiony pads. Tiny cat, tiny e-collar. She is resting now.

Have clavamox oral a/b drops to do twice daily til gone, and four pre measured syringes of bupe to give every 12 hours if needed, or dose lesser amount if needed. Cold wash cloth compress for swelling or if excessive draining from surgical site. Wait til early evening to offer fud. Recheck is on 12/27. Oh yes, dissolving stitches.

DH updated by phone that Sootie would have none absolutely none of the mc choices. Freeze dried minnows yes fud no!

Hugs and thanks all, your boosts, prayers, vibes, broad shoulders and moral support mean everything!!! ❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️❤️

Gonna check Sootie's Bg, then take a quickie nap!! I think Azalea and I earned one today. Zzzzzzz....

Just now catching up on the good news. So happy to hear that Azalea is out of surgery and home now. I hope you all get some much needed peace of mind and healing today.

Home and healing... that is the best news..... keep gaining your strength little Azalea... long day for both of you and well deserved nap for sure... :bighug::bighug:

Hope so too and healing all around for all in need. Crossing paws for smooth and comfortable recovery.

Realized that the plushy comfy bed with soft sides kinda crumbled in the wash (the bottom fabric disintegrated around the edges). It's air drying now (and for this bean to either sew in a new bottom or say what the heck and reluctantly add it to the landfill).

Sootie's +90 was 60. Wha????

DH, who has only recently been more embracing about late night snacks and, when I'm not home, mid-day meals, said on phone today that she rebuffed three different noon time fud offerings. "Gosh,"'sez he, "very frustrating and time consuming."

When readying to head downstairs, saw that azalea was no longer under the bed. Rebuffed extra cushioning to support her head, she having already settled in to the impromptu layerings of different pads. Here's a photo, though I lightened it for better visibility (was nearly sunset).

Hoping all having a smooth gentle day❤️❤️

So pleased to hear it all went well and Azalea is home again. Such a relief for you.
Sending a plane load of strong Aussie healing vines.
Such a sweet photo.

I'm glad Azalea found a comfy spot to sleep. I'm sure she's glad to be home. You don't have to worry about Sootie going too low since she's not on insulin right now. Sending prayers. :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

She looks awesome and I am so glad your vet didn't shave the fur around the eye either. I am so happy she is home and can now heal. What an adventure! Breath deeply my dear You're turning the corner now :bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug::bighug:

Sootie, Cat can not live on minnows alone :p

prayers for a quick healing....

small reminder that clavamox can affect kitty appetites.... ecid... usually the second, third day....

bg is usually low after anesthesia so the 60 is no surprise.... that's why many don't need insulin the cycle after surgery ( again, ecid)

Thank you all for hugs and vines and ❤️❤️❤️
