Good Morning Everyone,

Warm here this morning: 11 degrees and heading higher!!
We all had a good night. Rusty slept in "his spot" on the bed. I don't know whether or not he sang last night: I was asleep. This morning 4 Ps in place so far. Breakfast has been partially eaten (all of the Cowboy Cookout and "some" of the Wellness turkey--but that will be gone, too, before long), we have had a "schmooze", and a rousing game with Big Bug and then another with Red Ears.
We are thinking positive thoughts for all kitties who are not feeling well today, and for all beans, too.

Heat wave there huh? :lol: WOW on the 11 degrees... bundle up, stay warm, and go out exploring... :-D Sounds like all is well in RustyLand. very nice!

Hey Rusty - you wanna come to Tess's today? the KTSS is going so we can bring her some chicken soup, and a spa treatment. She had to go to the ER vetty bean last night :shock: I think she's OK, but I dunno.... you in? ~~ Mannie

What would you think about fattening Rusty's dose? I think his overall level could come down just a bit -- like maybe to all greens.

Hi again, and about to go out the door,

The stove/chimney guys came to inspect the stove and clean the chimney, were here all morning, and all is OK. We had a cold-air mass in the chimney that prevented the stove from drawing and pushed all the smoke back down again. So everything is (and was) fine, and the chimney, which was clean, is now even cleaner. Big load off our minds. (Plus we learned a lot!)
Rusty was a bit agitated because the sound of their vacuum equipment was very loud, but he was OK. Ate a bit of EVO 95% chicken & Turkey and Cowboy cookout after they left. When we tested at +6 he was 71.

Thanks for the suggestion, Sienne. I've been thinking along those lines, too, but don't want to do any fattening of dose until after the holidays. We'll be traveling to my sister's at Xmas.

Off now to start Xmas shopping. will bake some more cookies when I get home. Edward and Rusty will have some quality time together (he likes the way Edward combs him better than the way I do!).

Rusty has definite opinions on how he likes to be groomed and how much -- he loves the bristle brush, and especially loves to be told how lovely his coat is. He takes pretty good care of his own coat, but the brushing helps reduce the amount of furballs he gets. (no furball pukes if we brush him several times per week). He is ticklish about his tummy - and prefers just tummy pets rather than brushing or combing.

Only needed to use the mat cutter twice during the spring shedding time. The rake-like comb is great for removing little pre-mat tufts of loose fur before they get to the ow-y stage.

Ella...glad to hear another good day for Rusty. I hope he really enjoys his quality time with Edward.

Also happy to hear the woodstove is all checked out just in time for a "warming" trend there :lol: :lol:

Thanks so much for your suggestions for Gracie. We were trying something based on good, sensible advice to try and control those drops but it wasn't working for Gracie so we are, in fact, going back to the lower % carb meals. Where's that "Gracie's Owner's Manual"? :lol: :lol:

Thanks, Phoebe, for the tip on how Rusty likes to be brushed. We'll be sure to tell him how beautiful his coat is (even more!).
Claudia: we made it up to 22 degrees (F.) this afternoon.

Roads awful this afternoon: what the natives call "greasy". I managed to get 1 present!! (Hate to shop!).
Back later. Never did get to the cookies. And then there are Xmas cards . . .

hmm, it's getting to the point where I'll have to stop procrastinating on shopping, isn't it? Ugh. I hate it too, especially at this time of year.

I'm glad it warmed up for you and that all is well in the chimney department.

For what it's worth, I was going to suggest fattening his dose too, but his numbers are beautiful so there is no rush to do it if it's not a good time. It would just be a fine-tuning thing. Enjoying the holidays is more important!

Bummer on the roads, YAY on the stove, too bad on the cookies. Mannie was hoping Rusty would bring some when he came to tess's. :lol: :lol: oh yes on the shopping - I finally threw in the towel and did it all online... :? I absolutely hate the mall... now if i lived in a small town with a Main Street that might be different. :-D

Hi again, Just to report that Rusty vomited his Cowboy Cookout right after dinner (twice he's vomited CC, so I think that there will be no more of it offered). Then he didn't eat anything all evening and just slept on his perch. But after the bedtime test he was his usual ebullient self and ate his Wellness Chicken. We are going to bed now. Rusty's favorite time of the day!

Glad your stove checked out okay. Sorry CC made Rusty sick. Hope your roads clear and you accomplish all the baking etc. I'm going to join Tuffy under the down quilt. Sleep tight. Hope you get a luluaby tonight.
