Yesterday was..... BYE BYE CLAVAMOX day in MannieLand. :-D :-D :-D :-D YAY!!! We till have a few appy issues, where he wants to eat, but some fuds just are not appealing... so will will continue with the greek yogurt for a day or two longer, if it seems like he wants or needs it. It does see to help him, with the settling of the stomach and the intestinal track, and the LB. The LB has really improved. :razz: Yesterday's numbers were simply awful. I so hope to see better things today. If no improvement over the next couple of days, once I am sure that the AB's are ":out of his system", I will consider a dosecrease for him, just to get him jump started again. Hopefully we won't need that. So Mannie... back to the good Numbers, 'K? Think blue, think green! Lubs ya big guy! cat_pet_icon

All is well in MannieLand. He got a mini bath yesterday - the rear end portion. :shock: The poor guy! What with the messy LB ad the messy bum, he so needed a little help. :shock: :? :? So.... filled the bathroom sink with nice warm water and in it the hind end went. It was interesting - at first he really was a little annoyed, but after half a minute he started purring! :shock: :shock: You gotta love that. It almost seemed like he was grateful. well maybe. :-D We have been cold, weather wise her for a few days, in the 30's throughout the day. It has been one for sleeping kitties most of the day. Mannie managed to visit all his sleeping spots throughout the day, alternating them with the nanner pile. After his "bath" the nanners were the location of choice. :cool: I secretly suspect that he too was in DGS recovery mode, sleep was a necessity! :lol: :lol: This morning we had a great test, feed and shoot and clean plate club: barely (what a relief, and phew!), purrs and lots of cuddles. With encouragement, normalcy in MannieLand. :cool:

Hey everybody! What FUNS yesterday! I so love ice skating. and the fire and grilin' and s;mores and all the good fuds that everyone brought. it was so cool to see the sled thingie that Tess brought for Maui - she then got to go skating too! I think that today we need to go and visit Zener! He got LOTS OF SNOW and I bet his beans have built lots of snow tunnels. I love snow tunnels... they is so cool. I hope that maybe after that we can go and camp out on Rusty's radiators... I hear that Auntie Ella Bean is busy baking cookies... I so lubs cookies... what do you guys think? You in? let me know - I am ready for anything! ~~ Mannie

Morning Michelle and yay for no more clavamox, and hope this brings blues and greens back to our Mannie! I hope this latest dosecrease works, too. That's great the LB area is looking. I bet the Greek yogurt has helped. Oh how funny with the hind end bath! :lol: You showed me that one, and now Mags gets one when she has prezzies, and she even seems to enjoy it. Have a great day. It's good to let it evolve and see what you feel like doing today. Our weather is better today with slim chance of showers.

He seems better this AM, at least he is eating without opening a ton of fuds cans... :-D I think so too on the greek yogurt - it has made a difference, noticeable in the LB. Yupp on the bath - it was funny... he really liked it. Go figure huh! He's getting good at tolerating the bumwashing too, when I just do that area. Yesterday was the whole bottom quarter of the kitty, feet and all.

Hi Michelle. How nice that Mannie accepted the sink bum bath. I have to do Clancy in the tub and use the hand held spray on him. It takes only moments before he realizes, the warm water feels good. I think I'll try the sink next time...easier on my back.

Thank goodness the Clav is done. WooHoo.

Michelle, Is Mannie eating fat free yogurt? All the PLAIN greek yogurt in stores here, is fat free, and with Checks so skinny, I would like a 2%, at least. He loooooves all dairy. All the flavored is full of sugar, of course.

How cute, that Mannie has to recuperate from the little bean visits. :lol:

Michelle, I hope you will have a nice, relaxing day today as the day evolves. Great that Mannie doesn't resent his bath. Sounds like he's going to chillax today, too (after all that snow activity, that is!)

Morning Deborah ~O) ~O) ~O) I so agree on the AB's - that could not end soon enough. I hope so too on the pretty curves. I believe he will, once we get past the lingering effects of the AB's. The bath was good - nice that he didn't mind it too much. :-D :-D

Morning Barb ~O) ~O) ~O) I agree on the bath, ad the warm water. I think that too is what convinced Mannie that it was a good thing - it actually felt good, even if he was wet. :lol: :cool: And I so agree on the Clav! We have a few lingering effects from that: appy is better, but still not 100%. Hopefully that will e good by days end. Yes on the Yogurt, it is 0% fat. I went with the greek variety, as it was the one that stated live cultures, which is what you need. I didn't see any with 2% listed. The brands were have here in most stores is Oikos (a dannon product) and Chojbani (sp?) I found that these had the least amount of sugar... I was trying hard not to add that to the mix, but couldn't avoid it. Going forward I will be adding Pet Dophilus to his diet, a probiotic to help maintain a healthy intestinal+ track. Mannie too LOVESSSSS the dairy - I had no issue with getting him to eat the yogurt. Yes on the DGS recovery - It makes me laugh - he sleeps after those visits... :lol: :lol:

We are still having a little appy/food interest issues, a lingering effect I think form the AB's. I have read that it can take a few days before they are out of the system.... I too was glad that he didn't resent the bath - as he so needed it. Hopefully it helped him feel better. Thx on today. I shall do just that - let things evolve, and finish my wrapping for the holidays.

Morning guys yay for back down to yellow!!! Hahaha on the butt bath! Poor Mannie! I have had to clean up Scrabble's butt countless times, he gets pretty mad, doesn't like to be touched in that area, hahah! So happy you guys are finally done the ab. Good luck with the dosecrease if you decide to do it. I am sure you should start seeing some improvement soon. Have a happy Sunday!

Hey Mannie,

You had to get your butt cleaned too and in the sink no less! :o When I have that issue, my bean uses baby wipes on my bum and sometimes if it's bad it really stings! Then she uses the special shampoo and pads and helps me clean. Kewl that you thought it was fun sitting in the sink. I never liked it. My bean is extra tricky, she puts me in the shower and closes the door so I can't get out! But, I'm good and my paws work their magic to find the crack in the door, so I can push it open and run away! When she puts me in there, everything gets wet, not just my bum! I really hate it, but then she puts me on the counter wrapped in towels and uses the special fur dryer with all the yummy warm air, I don't even mind the loud noise it makes.

My bean really needs that special tea, she couldn't breathe and made icky noises all night long. She interrupted my sleep time that I had to leave the room! Poor mommy bean.

I don't know if I can make it today, my bean didn't get out of bed until after 12! :shock: And I'm still waiting for my breffis! Maybe after I eat, catch up on the mid morning nap, I can come out to play. We'll see.

Hey your beegees are looking better! You must be feeling lots better too!

Morning Michelle ~O) ~O) ~O) I am happy with the yellow - such an improvement over yesterday. :cool: I know on the butt washings... it is a regular occurrence here too. Yesterday required a bit more effort however... so in the sink he went. :shock: Me too on the AB, now to get rid of the lingering effect of that AB. He processes things so slowly sometimes that I am not surprised that it still lingers some. Once we get there I am sure he will improve, and if not? More juice awaits. :-D

Maui - WHAT??? your bean puts you in the SHOWER??? :shock: :shock: :shock: I don't think I'd like that... you must be good at escaping! My civvie sister though would loves it! I'm interested in the cranberry powder. What one are you trying? What did your vet say about it? You got me checking it out this morning and I wonder if it will help Tess? heck, what's one more powder to add to her food. It is apparently very good at preventing E. coli infections, which is what Tess gets. did you ever find out which little nasty was bothering Mannie?

Hi Ann - I heard about the cranberry from a member here - I think it was Wendy (Neko), it was her vet that recommended it. Mine never mentioned it, and I haven't called to ask. I really should. I bought it, but haven't given it to him yet. He's had so many things thrown at him in the past days that I wanted to hold off just a bit... The one I found was Sundown Naturals, "Cranberry Fruit". It was the only one in a gel-cap that I could break open and sprinkle on the food. I read that too on the E.coli. This time around Mannie had the enterococcus (SP?) bacteria. last go around (well the one prior to the July one where we never did know which one he had - long story there) he had the E.coli and the enterococcus. THX too on Mannie, a bit better today. I so hope for a good PM cycle. If not, increase tomorrow. I simply have to get him out of these high numbers.

345 @ PMPS. Oddly enough the same as last night's PMPS. I sure hope he fairs better tonight. :? He did eat fairly well tonight - back to his normal Wellness fuds, and the CPC. The little stinker though managed to spit out his Plavix pill, like 6 times! So that was a open wide administration... he was not pleased. :lol:

Hi Carla - many thanks! I hope he does too! I hope so too, have heard three days on average. I hope he will set a speed record. :lol:

Hi Melissa - I know on that pink... kinda brought me down a little. I was relieved to see him drop at +2. It is a relief. Oh I know on the butt wash - he used to ahte them, still does when it is just his rear. He must have liked the warmth of the water,as he really didn't fight me, which is the norm... weird! and YES on out weather - it is really nasty out there tonight - awful! Cold windy with heavy rains,. sorry DH: welcome to Seattle.... LOL, but he is right - the rains are sideways tonight. some Seattle greeting huh.... :shock: :roll:

Sheesh they do catch on to theses things. Tess won't touch Pill Pockets at all anymore. I think it was Libby that mentioned chicken flavored capsules to put partial pills in.

Hi Ann - that they do! and I am certain that is what Mannie has done too. He knows I've been sneaking them in there - the clav was so obvious. Now no more pill pockets at all. Tried what worked before, as the pills are so small, easily hidden in the fuds, but out it came anyways... oh well. Yes it was Libby that mentioned those. I will see if the vet has any, if not I saved the link she sent me... somewhere.... :lol: Mannie will be on some sort of pill, heart meds, for as long as he is with us, so it is down the hatch one way or another twice a day. FUN! not....
