I hope everyone had a great weekend, and a good Sunday yesterday. I spent mine at home, with a few local hikes to add some outdoor time to a weekend full of chores and errands and general relaxation recovery time from a very busy week with the boys. Sunday was an outdoor day for me, at least in the morning. I went early to the shore, had a decent time. At least it didn't rain! I spent most of the time exploring the woods. It was so quiet, not many people out early in the morning at all. A few runners but no one else. Kinda nice! The tree ornaments went on in the afternoon. Well started, until Lola claimed it as hers, and had a field day with what I did out on it.  She had fun. It is so typical of how she approaches most things: warp speed, curiosity on maximum overload. She is such fun. Here is what I wrote last night on the day. I've also re-posted the video for anyone that missed it. "Hi All! What a morning! the shore walk was great, and I also spent lots of time in the woods too, just exploring. Amazing that it can be winter mode here but I can still find lots of moss, lichens and fungi to see. I had a great time down there Meadowdale just never disappoints. :-D :-D :-D :-D :-D well............. the ornaments are on the tree. well about half of them.   Lola was doing so well, and leaving them all alone, short of checking out the boxes they were stored in. She did pretty good with that too until she got to the box where they were tissue wrapped. That was her undoing... that tissue spoke to hear, I swear: "RIP ME UP" so she did.  A few went flying... which got her thinking (scary!): TREE! so up she went to see what was there. She must have climbed that thing 15 times. Each time playing with a different one. POOR RUDOLPH! He was mauled and Santa was just obliterated with kitty slobber and Christmas Bear! He went flying.   Well.... she played with it all for about 45 minutes and has now crashed, taking a nap. No doubt storing up energy for round two later today. I still have two boxes to hang, but will see how this goes before putting on any more. GO LOLA! You gotta love it. And oddly enough, or maybe predictably: Bug has left it all alone.Good kitty! "

and of course I took video....
LOLA, and the tree:

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!   What to say about the kitties.... They have been good kitties, and even Lola! Well sorta on Lola. After her ornament adventure on Sunday she crashed, and napped the afternoon/evening away. She amide a few trips by the tree in the evening, but no ventures up. What a relief. This morning however.... well Rudolph was back on the floor, Santa had fallen a few feet, and Christmas Bear was MIA. I found him in the kitchen.   These three seem to be her favorite. I have yet to take inventory and see if anything else is missing. What fun it all is.... It sounds crazy, but I do enjoy her antics. She is a bundle of curiosity, mischief, adventure. What zest for living. Bug still is leaving the tree alone. He has not taken up residence under the tree, I though maybe he would. Elsa continues to ignore it. She never has been much of a "Christmas kitty". As I watched Lola play with it all, and Bug pass by or an occasional sniff, I couldn't help but remember Mannie. This was his holiday, tree and all. Santa Claws always brought him nanners. He would hoard them all, even the ones left for BJ and Elsa. It was always so fun to watch him corral them all, and then defend the stash. What fun memories. Merry Christmas Mannie! :-D

Have a great day everyone! I'm not too sure what will be here today. One of those days when I shall see what comes to be. I still have Christmas Wrapping to finish, a couple of packages to get in the mail. I am meeting my son for breffis today, as I have an early appt tomorrow, our normal breffis day. WOO HOO !! Fun times with the kid. hope to be able to take a trek to the shore later in the day.

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN cat_pet_icon

Oh Michelle! That video was hysterical! Just what we all were waiting for. sorry I missed yesterday. It's been really busy w/ John gone, but he gets home today!

I think your family will have a new Christmas tradition, sitting around and watching Lola in the tree!   Good thing she just likes the soft ornaments, maybe she is oracticing for nanners!

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

Morning Ann ~O) ~O) ~O) no worries on yesterday - I know how it goes. Isn't that cat the best? It is such a strain with her sometimes, but I truly do love it all. She is so full of a zest for everything that she just gets so involved. All the time I was watching her climb and play and swirl in that tree I kept thinking: "Oh please don't fall over, please don't fall over...." It is still standing this morning, no worse for wear. I've tried to anchor it via lines form the top to walls etc, but there just isn't a way to do that where the tree is, without pulling it the wrong way (a problem due to the semi-broken stand), or clothes-lining someone. so..... we get up every morning in hope we will see the tree in upright position. I like the new tradition - I am sure we will do alot of that. "Oh LOOK! There she goes... again...." I so agree on the soft ones! Could be on practicing for new nanner delviery!

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

I love that video!! Lola is such a hoot. You are a very patient person because I would have been pulling her out of that tree. have a great day Michelle!

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

   Best video ever!! I love that not only is she having a great time, but she totally ignores the camera so you're able to capture it. When I try to video my kitties doing something cute, they immediately stop doing it and focus on the camera instead.

Have a great day, Michelle - hopefully that tree will keep standing!

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

I'm glad the tree's still standing. How funny that Lola has claimed those three ornaments. When you put them back on the tree, she'll know just where to go to get her new toys. ;-)

I hope you had a good breakfast with your DS. Enjoy your day.

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

Ho Michelle,
OMG on Lola and the Christmas tree and ornaments, or I mean Lola's tree!  I'm glad you posted it again, as I missed yesterday. She is a riot. I love the pic of Bug with the nanners, especially the Rainbow nanner. It reminds me of Mannie. It's a beautiful tree. Glad you were able to get in some hikes and a shore walk. We have crazy hot, 80 degree weather today. So much for Winter here.
Elsa, thanks for the coffee and pies and I'll always take three pizzas.
Enjoy your breffifs and hope you get a walk/hike in, too.

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

Ooopsie on the ornaments...aren't they on there as the new toys for kitties? I hope you got some of your errands done. Have a great night!

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. It has been a fun one here, buy, but mellow at the same time, and fun. Breakfast with my son was great, it always is. I love these get togethers we do - time for us to just catch up, and talk. Plus this new place has really good food! It was a morning of good food, good comply and a really nice sunrise. Pefecto! I came home to begin a marathon Christmas present wrap session.... gotta get it done! and..... I had a helper! DUH! Lola is such a charge! She was more into the boxes things came in, the stuffing that a sin them, and my discards of wrap apper. Miraculously she left the presents alone!  I played it safe this yaar and did not use ribbons or bows... I can only imagine what she'd do with those. Elsa and Bug made pass by to see what was up, but didn't stay to "help" They both just looked at Lola. One ca so see what they are thinking: "We can't possible be related to her... no, no way".  The weather her today was really nice! The sun did come out, it was maybe 48 outside, with a cool crisp air that was just the best. So... decided about 1pm I was done being indoors, and headed on down to the shore. That so nice! Sunny trails, perfect hiking weather. Plus, no one was there. YAY! I went on down to picnic point later to catch the sunset. One could tell by the clouds etc that were in the sky about 3 that is was going to be a good one. Sure enough! Awesome. It sure did get cold though fast once the sun went down. so went the day.... mellow, laid back, with some nice outdoor time. I will post the Picassa links in tomorrow's condo.

Hi Melissa - isn't that great! She is a hoot, love her to pieces. Well... I have pulled her out a couple of times, when the tree is really shaking and swaying  ....

Hi Amy - THX, I probably could have made it longer, but well... she was getting a little over-enthusiastic. This is true on the camera. She pays it no heed. I can remember so many times trying to get Mannie on Video, like the fuds dance, and the minute the camera was in his face he'd stop. Not Lola! and.... the tree is still standing!

Hi Carla - Oh yes, me too on the tree. ;-) I thought so too on those ornaments. This afternoon it was back to those, and then she added another one, another soft one. yupp, they are her new toys. silly cat. THX on breffis we had a great time.

Hi Ann - Right you are - it is Lola's tree!  Thx on the video - I'm glad it came out as well as it did. THX too on the pic of Bug and that nanner. Funny, but it reminded me of Mannie too. SO many things this Christmas are doing that. I did enjoy the hike today too, so nice outside, we are not 80 like you, but ti was sunny, Quite nice actually! It sees to odd to have 80 in winter! THX on today too - it was great.
Auntie Ann! Always at your service! I would not miss your order for anythings! All is ready to go, and I am on my way! ~~ Elsa, Lil BIT, kitteh barista

Hi Rachel - LOL, and yes they are! as far as Lola is concerned they are her toys. Elsa and Bug could care less. ;-) THX on today - I did, and had a good time! Easy going with accomplishments.

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

I have to add my thanks for you posting that video - it definitely made me smile! Fortunately I don't have tree climbers here, but ornaments are fair game. The non breakable ones are located in paws reach. Your tale of attaching the tree reminds me of a cat I grew up with and we always had to make sure it was attached to the wall, or we'd hear CRASH overnight. I think Christmas trees are one of the best cat toys. Now Neko just likes lying on the tree skirt. Give your kitties some scritches from me, they sure don't mind getting their pictures taken. :-D

Re: 12/16 LOOSE LIPS: Who needs ornaments anyways?!?! not me

Hi Wendy ~O) I'm glad you enjoyed the video. Lola is such a character. One has to love these Christmas kitties! I agree too: Christmas trees are the best cat toys ever. Lola will confirm that! :-D I will pass on those scritches. Funny, but yes: they sure do not mind getting their photo taken. "oh here she comes again, another photo shoot"
