Phoenix has to take levalbuterol breathing treatments when he starts showing symptoms of an asthma attack. He was panting on and off yesterday but I decided to hold off on a breathing treatment and see how he was this morning.
His BG at +10 was 201. After this, I gave Phoenix a levalbuterol breathing treatment because he was still panting on and off this morning. At his AMPS, his BG had shot up to 449. His BG is usually low in the mornings. I have commented on this before about the levalbuterol.
Looking back through my notepads, I have noticed that after every breathing treatment, his BG has gone way up. The levalbuterol works great so I will continue to use it when needed. The raise in his BG is not because he was stressed. He acts normally and his breathing rate is not elevated. His symptoms were exactly the same yesterday with no rise in Phoenix's BG until after his breathing treatments.
I am just posting this in case anyone else has a cat with asthma and is starting Albuterol or Levalbuterol treatments.
