Good Morning, Everyone,

After two flat yellow day cycles, Rusty has come down to a nice AMPS to start today. I hope he can stay in better numbers today. We all had a good night, snuggling underneath the quilt. This morning's routine went well. Rusty is now chillaxin. on his little bed by the radiator. I checked the Nature's Recipe grain-free varieties online and see that they have changed the ingredients in the Chicken (it now has tuna in it) and apparently discontinued the Chicken & Turkey. Bummer, just when I find something that Rusty likes and that seems to be high protein/low carbs.

It is COLD here (-10 F.) and clear at the moment, but a big storm is supposed to move in later today, tonight, and Sunday. It's a good day for paperwork, getting a start on Xmas cards, and listening to the Met opera broadcast.

Wishing you all a good day. Sending safe-travel vines and good chemo vines to Jupiter. Holding Josie and Will in our hearts.

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136

Great start for Rusty today :-D Smart kitty sticks close to those radiators doesn't he
I hear you on the pet food thing..it is so frustrating! I wish they would leave the recipes alone and just add more choices, but all the modifications just makes are pickings slimmer by the day :YMSIGH:

Ok Rusty..time to cough up the hairball you are so obviously attached to! It's the season to share! Judging by your luxurious coat, I have no doubts you can get yourself a new hairball later

Have a great day Ella!

Oh, btw I am making your shortbreads today!

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136

Morning Ella :-D That's a beautiful start to the day! Hopefully Rusty will slide down to greens for you. Why, why do they have to mess with our pet foods! It's so hard to find ones with the right levels already, and I hope you can find more that Rusty will like. Stay warm and cozy, and have a great Caturday!

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136

Good idea to stay inside and warm w/ that storm on hte way.Rusty has the right idea w/ the radiators, Tess says she is on the way. Stay blue (or even go green!) and be a good influence on her.

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136

Looking good Rusty, keep it up (or down actually  )
Stay warm Ella and have a great day!

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136

Good morning, Ella, it's nice to see Rusty in almost-lagoon territory.
Sorry to hear about the fuds changes ~ I can empathize with your frustration.
Enjoy your day today. May it be warm and cozy, and filled with beautiful music :-D
Please give your radiator guy scritches for us ~ and thank you so much for sending us wonderful, positive thoughts today and the last few days.

Re: 12/14 Rusty AMPS 136, +5.5 283, +9 208

Hi again, everyone,

Josie, it is so good to see you today.

Well, after that nice AMPS I was shocked to see the +5.5. We didn't have a fur shot. The only possibilities I can think of (besides the fact that Rusty is a cat) is that the meter and strips were too cold to be accurate at either AMPS or +5 (I forgot to put them in my pocket and it was cold in the house), or that Rusty went low last night and that the 136 at AMPS was already on the way up the bounce. We'll see what happens at PMPS; I am leaning toward taking his dose up a drop if we are not out of the yellows.

The big snowstorm hasn't started here yet.

So happy to hear that Jupe is home safe from the long trip to and from chemo in the snowstorm.

bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Sorry Rusty went up today instead of down. Good luck if you increase tonight.

Re: 12/14 Rusty PMPS 247 dosecrease

Hi again,

Rusty got his dosecrease to a fat 1.75 units (2.66mm on digital calipers, Terumo syringe). He's been sitting in the high yellows for too long, although he did drop into the 60s for several nights (and probably went even lower). Whatever. We've been on this dose for 19 cycles and it hasn't done much of anything except confuse and cloud the picture. I don't think Rusty is sick, but in January he'll be going in for his semi-annual check-up and tests. He was doing great in October, but then came the corticosteroid ear drops for a probable ear-drum infection and since then his numbers have been all over the place (there were also some fur shots in there; a trip; etc.).

Light snow is beginning to fall, but the bulk of the big storm is not expected to be here. It's ironic that here, where we can and do deal with snow all winter, we are getting very little snow from this massive storm while it all falls on places where it causes havoc!

It's 5 degrees F. As a stark contrast, we're going now to watch "The Palm Beach Story" (1942) on Turner Classic Movies!! bbl,

Ella & Rusty

Paws crossed this dosecrease bring back Mr. Flat Cat Rusty. I know he can do it!

Snuggled on a sofa with a kitty, hot toddies, watching a movie about Palm Beach while snow falls around - sounds like a perfect evening. :-D
