Yesterday: 12/13 Millie/AMPS 248/3.5/PMPS 220 | Feline Diabetes Message Board - FDMB

Millie now has the Freestyle Libre. It seems to be reading higher than ear sticks with the FreeStyle lite. Because she wasn't eating on Monday, she spent yesterday at the vet, getting poked, prodded and tested. Despite my ketone blood meter reading .6 and .5 for ketones, she didn't show any at the vet. However, her BG was up (chalking it up to vet office stress) We did not do the specific test for pancreatitis but I was given odansetron for any possible nausea and I have Mirataz ointment for appetite. She got both last night and has eaten this morning, just not as much as usual.

The FSLibre is interesting and it will be interesting to see how it reads, compared to FS Lite numbers. Right now, it is reading substantially higher, in the upper range, but was pretty close last night when she was down in the 160 to 180 range.

This is pretty fascinating. Obviously, the Libre lags in numbers compared to FS Lite which was explained by the video on the FreeStyle FB page. It sure is feeding into my OCD about this stuff and Millie and her ears are happy. Rule #1: Don't try to stuff your 12 lb cat into a 10 lb onesie. No good can come of it. The large T-shirts arrive tomorrow. I stopped short of getting the Christmas themed ones. She's getting a couple of oh-so-chic French sailor stripe shirts, one black and one gray. She will now need a beret. I swore I would never be one of those crazy cat ladies...oh, well.
