Re: 12/14 Mannie PMPS 170, +1 218, +2 194 vet report

Hi Michelle,
Glad to hear about Mannie's vet visit. He was just like my Bo, hated going to the vets.
Take care,
Mike & Bo (GA)

Michelle...so sorry you had so much going on today and I'm just checking in on Mannie. I'm so relieved to hear it's just a fatty cyst!! I know you must have almost collapsed from relief. Sounds like you have a great vet. That's just crazy about Mannie's numbers!!! I don't know of another cat who does that   Looks like Mannie is getting back at you tonight for your earlier statement about no blues and greens.

Thanks for checking in on us and giving me some input. We are staying the course here. There was just that one glimmer of hope ....I think we are both just tired and the glimmer was luring but since we've had a while to digest it, we know what we need to do.

I'm headed for bed...I'm beat and this emotional roller coaster today just added to it. Hope you get some rest.

awesome vet report and quite a day for mannie!!!
most kitties numbers rise from stress when going to the vetty-bean, but there are some who like to be different. their numbers drop. has this ever happened before with mannie?

most vets don't understand normal numbers. they just don't seem them in their office. i don't think my vet believed me the first time i told him two of my civvies regularly test in the 40s. when he looks at alex's ss now he looks at me sheepishly and says, "that's kind of low, isn't it?" then i pull up the list of otj kitties and their spreadsheets and he says, "never mind..."

HI Marjorie! No problem really. I know you're tired, and I can only imagine what the "internist" did to your stress level. I cannot count the number times I have read similar stories here of internists or specialties or whatever that discount the knowledge that lies here, and somehow just can't see outside of the box. I wish they'd open their eyes and look at what lies before them. -- and yes on the glimmer of hope. there's always hope.

Hi Jill! We've had a couple of visits to the vet with Mannie during our journey with FD. This was the first time that he has not had his BG level rise, as I remember anyways. I really couldn't believe it, down 40 points during a time that was very stressful for him - one anxious scared kitty. I knew he was on his way down before we left, but really thought his trip would offset that, it was close to his nadir too, he'd been fed, etc. -- and yes on the numbers and the vets. I did get a chuckle out of the voice message she left for me earlier this evening - labs results were in - she was really worried about the 58 that showed in his BW, it was way too low. you are so right - they just don't see numbers like that in their office. I was rejoicing, and she was worried...  Love the story of your vet, the low numbers, the otj's - so great!

NI NI all - Mannie's done for the night - he's blue surfin' and I think I'll let him have a good sleep. it's been a long day for him.
