Happy Caturday. I am up, though not too sure how. :-D It must have been that persistent clawing to the face that did it.  It seems the kitties thought they were starving. What a late night last night. So sorry that I never got back on here last night. It was such along day for me, never made it back to the house once we left in the morning. sheshhhh.... home at 9. oh well, so goes FR nights these days. Nicholas's parting words last night: "we did lots today. I had fun. can we do it again?"  and guess so. We ended up at Juanita Beach Park in the morning, Pacific Science Center in the afternoon, pool after that. Juanita Beach Park was foggy, a little on the chilly side, with a persistent mist that kept things wet. Nicholas, nor William nor I cared. It was great to be out, and we did all that there was to do> Swigs and slides, beach combing, duck chasing, board walk walking. Nicholas learned about ice on big water holes. He had a blast with that, stomping on the planes of ice, watching them shatter, and crack, marveling in the patterns created. We ate lunch in the car, and then off to the Pacific Science Center. it is getting to the point that we meed more time there than what we had, as he really interacts these days with all the the science center has to offer. So that ended up being a bit rushed, still fun though, and we all left with smiles. The butterfly house has these charts to help one identify what they are seeing. He grabbed the flower one, and off we went to find all the flowers. amazingly he got them all right. kinda fun. The pool was cool - well duh on that. We and one other family were he only ones there. Woohoo! We had most of the place to ourselves. Got busier when we left at 7m what with the lesson crowd, and open swim. He did well last night, was adamant when I picked him up in the morning that he swim at night. We did alot of underwater swims, alot of swimming the length of the beach area. Amazing that energizer FISH can still summon up all he has and swim non-stop, warp speed, full of love for the water when the chance is there. We swam for about an hour, until the fuel jets had run dry. Per Nicholas Swimming is MAJOR COOL! We have a new tradition. Friday night swims means that he has a burger and fries and milkshake "pig-out" after the swim. He so looks forward to that, laughs and smiles and what he sees as the best food ever. Burgers and Fries RULE! What a great day! Too fun! it was busy, but good.

Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!   It is oddly quiet here this morning.... too quiet.... It seems this is the norm every Caturday... hmmmm... somehow I remember writing this last Caturday too. What is up with the quiet Caturdays???? ;-) :? Well, I won't complain. They were good kitties yesterday. Lola was Lola: more bag and box chewing. She did get into the garlands, batted them around for a while, but no damage done. YAY! She also found the bag that has all of Santa Claws presents for her cousins... :o :o :o :o         O.M.G. She grabbed one of the treat bags, and would not let go. There she is running around the house with this bag in he mouth, growling the whole time. I finally caught up with her, tried to grab the bag. MORE GROWLING.   I grabbed the corner of the bag, lifted it up, Lola still attached, with the death grip via her bee-you-tee-ful toothies! At least I could then see she does not need a dental    SO there hung the cat, mid air, latched onto a kitty treat bag.         By the time I got the bag back it has been obliterated. I will have to buy another for cousin Bosco.   What was even funnier was that Bug adn Elsa were running after her trying to see what all the fuss was about. Maybe they were hoping she had dropped a few treats.   OH YES: Normalcy in MusketeerVille!!

Have a great day everyone. it is a for sure catch up day here: shopping, errands, laundry and some cleaning. And recovery time. I thoroughly enjoyed having both boys these past three days, but need some regroup time.  So that shall be today. That and an afternoon walk, to the shore I hope! We are still wet and rainy, but we will go when and if there is a weather break. YaHOO!

KITTIES! Remember: think BLUE, think GREEN!! cat_pet_icon

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

((Thank you, Michelle)) ♥♥♥

I love the visual of Lola claiming the treats, and the others following her (What is she up to now?? And what's in it for us??) The grab-and-growl reminds me of our Lucy ~ she would grab any food in a package (bread, pasta, etc) and run and growl (it's miiiiiine!). Silly kitties.

It looks like you guys had a great day yesterday ~ I love the Burger-and-Fries-Fridays! What a fun tradition :-D

Please give Elsa, Lola, and Bug scritches from me. I hope you have a great Caturday!

It must have been something to get Bug and Elsa's attention
Rest up and enjoy your day Michelle!

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Oh Lola! You are a handful child!
And I love the post-swim ' burger, fries and shake pig out' at the end of the day. Athletes have to keep their energy up you know! :-D
Sounds like another wildly busy yet full of love and adventure kind of day in your neck of the woods :-D

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Morning Josie, and thank you for your visit. Hugs to you and Will this morning. Yes, that incident with Lola was so darn funny. It sure did catch the attention of Bug and Lola: maniac cat n the loose!  Lola in much loike your Lucy in that regard. He too will often grab and run, growling all the way. THX on yesterday, it was great. I too love that burger and fires FR night. Nicholas took so well to it that I make sure that is what he gets for his post swimming dinner. Will do on those scritches!

Hi Pam - YUPP! Hanging in their for her life - NO WAY was she giving up those treats.  Silly kitties, even Bug and Elsa who so wanted to know "what is up???" THX on the rest up: will do!

Hi Kim - That she is! always something with that one.  YUPP! Agreed on those athletes and their post sport pig-outs. :-D Nicholas was so hungry! Devoured the whole thing. ;-) and yes it was: wild, busy, and full of adventure. Love that kid!

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

It's always good to be able to check out the teeth   Somebody wanted some treats! Sounds like a fun day. I hope you managed to get some rest today in that list of things to do :-D

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

 on Lola and the treat bag. She definitely didn't want to share with anyone, even you.

I hope you got to rest up today from your days with the boys.

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Hi everyone! I hope your day has been a good one. A very uneventful day here. I haven't been this boring in a long time.   The shopping is done, laundry is done, and short walk through the woods was had, done now for the day. :-D  on the way home I went through a new housing development that is going in next too the park. there used to be woods there, heck I hiked in there until the dev people got a hold of it. It is all, for me, rather sad... anyways - i was curious to see the homes. Most are still under construction, but I did look at the ones that were almost complete. They are such big houses, expensive houses, and all sandwiched in like sardines in a can. There isn't more than 6 feet between them, some patios are right next to each other. WOW - one had better like their neighbors. It is amazing to me that people will pay $500K for a house that is so close to their neighbors, with no yard on any side. One of these homes didn't even have a garage. no garage? seriously?  crazy....

Hi Rachel - thanks for the visit! Oh YES on those teeth! :o   yes, she sure did want those treats. crazy cat! THX on the day - it was really a good one, very busy, but we had such fun! THX too on today, and I did. What needed to get done did, the rest has been Just hanging out at home. Kinda nice!

Hi Carla - I so agree, and laughed so hard at her. Such focus! Such big white toothies! THX on today - I did, It was nice to take my time doing what I did do, relax when I wnated to. Love days like these.

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Oh, Lola    !

We have tons of McMansion developments around here, too - NJ is a little pricey, so they usually go for closer to $1million or so - with annual property taxes well over $20k. Talk about crazy. I don't get it...very sad indeed. Give me a small, old house with character, please.

Have a great night, Michelle!

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Hi Amy :-D Yupp, that's my girl! I should have gotten that on video....   I am with you on those McMansion developments 9(love that term!) - give me that small house with character. LOVE the old houses!

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Hi Michelle,

Glad you were able to get some things accomplished today and work in a walk :-D It is sad when we lose open space that we enjoy, for houses crammed in on top of one another. Another loss for nature
That Lola, I can picture her running, growling the whole time, with everyone hot on her tail   And you did get a good luck at her pearly whites!
What a fun day Friday looked like~ You must have been exhausted - At least Nicholas and William get to take a nap. Naps should be required for all adults, once they hit the age of 50 :-D

Hope you have a great night!

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Hi Michelle,
I'm really late tonight. Glad to see that you're still standing(?) after your busy day yesterday and today. The story of the kitties stealing Bosco's treat bag is a stitch.
Edward still mourns the woods he adventured in when he was a little boy. They tore them down and built houses and a shopping center when he was about 11. He and his friends went around and pulled up the surveyors' stakes!
I think those McMansions are eyesores. There is a development south of Albany that we pass on our way to NYC. Big houses, all of them looking like early 1950s Levittown houses but on a huge scale. I always say to Edward: "now we are going to go by my favorite houses!!" And we laugh.

Enjoy the rest of the weekend. It's finally snowing here.

Hugs, scritches,

Ella & Rusty

Re: 12/14 LOOSE LIPS: parks with beaches, science, and pools

Hi Jane ~O) ~O) ~O) THX, and me too on the day yesterday. I so agree on those houses, and the loss of nature. I miss those woods! ;-) LOL and yes on Lola - that whole ting was just too funny. She had her prize! Ah.... good idea on those naps required for adults too. I like that! FR was fun, busy but fun. I did OK wit it all, I get in let's go mode, and really don't feel the tired until I'm done. YAY! after that: crash time.

Hi Ella ~O) ~O) ~O) No worries on the lateness. And yupp! Still standing!   I thought so on Lola's treat run. That was just too funny! I so agree on the loss of the woods, and can understand how Edward feels. it i the same for me every time I go by that development. I love how he and his friends went and pulled up the stakes.   Good for them! And I agree - they are eyesores - especially where they built these: right next to a woods natural area - they stick out like sore thumbs.... THX on the weekend, and I shall. YAY too for your snow! Elsa is packing up her snow boots.... says she has to go to Rusty's. ;-)
