Starting a new thread now since I shot a blue again. Going to be up tonight making sure Mr Duncan doesn't dive too low. Also held back on the dose one drop. So I am back on the 1u line but as little as physically possible. Going to hold there for 3-5 days no matter what and see what shakes out.

Expecting a food spike but none came from a few bits of dry Science Diet he got into tonight.

Fed him and he ate plenty. Looks good and feeling good. Going to test at +2 to see what kind of night it will be for us.

Hope everyone has had a great day and will have a great night. Sleep tight sugar mommas and daddies and kitties.
Thank you all for being here.

JUST HAVING A GREAT TWO DAYS OVER HERE!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! CANNOT BELIEVE WE ARE DOING SO WELL SO SOON. Thanks to everone here. May your kitties have good blues and greens too.

Re: 12/14 Duncan *ADVICE PLS* PMPS 157, +2 164, +11 97

wishing I had a few tests from the night with this morning low!!!
+11 at 97. Depending on what happens at pre-shot time I may need some advice - big time!

I guess Lantus can have a little dip right at the end of the cycle. What is your personal lower limit for shooting? (I know I know ECID) I just need a benchmark for when not to give insulin.

Thanks for any feedback or advice.

Personally with Musette my cut-off is anything below 100, but then again I have nearly 6months worth of tests and am home with her just about 24/7 so I can test often.

My exception to that rule is at night, at night when I'm not sure if I will be awake enough to test my cut-off point is 120. But again that is my personal numbers since I have lots and lots of months of testing Musette and can just about predict what she will do at any given point.

I gave him a normal 1u his BG was at 104 but he was hungry so maybe it was a hunger low? Is there such a thing? So I backed off the dose about 1 drop last night and also about 1 drop again today. We are pretty much 1u solid right now.

So normal test, feed, shoot. He ate a lot so now I just need to watch him and make sure he doesn't crash. Or puke.

Wish me luck. I see a lot of cats go to the blues and greens almost exclusively once they are regulated well. I hope that is the case here.

Wishing you the best of luck...sending no crash or puke vibes for Sir Duncan. Just keep testing and watching to make sure he doesn't pull what Musette is doing to me today...lol.

Awww too bad about the crash. Does that earn her a dose reduction?

Duncan could very well have a late nadir.... the BG you posted look like my Oliver and his lowest BG is normally at ps or maybe +11.

You see he was 97 at 1hr before shot time and had risen to 104 or rather stopped dropping by ps time.
If I am ever doubting if the numbers are rising or dropping, I have a 2-rising-number rule... I test and if not sure, I'll wait for 15min, test again, and if it's barely a rise, I wait for another 15min.

I know we may all want to have tons of numbers, but often you just can't for many reasons.... if you can get the odd curve done, say on the weekend, you should gather lots of good info.
Now if you are wondering if Duncan is looking like a late nadir kitty, try to get a +10 or +11 and then you will know if his ps number is still dropping or on the rise. I often test Oliver in this way but not Shadoe as her nadir is pretty much mid cycle..
